Grace's POV

I was biting my lower lip nervously while waiting for their orders to get ready. My back was turned towards him. As much as I was dying to look at him, I didn't turn around, but I felt his gaze on me. My hands were trembling. I breathed deeply, trying to calm down.

"Someone can't take his eyes off you." Greta commented, giving me a warm smile. "I thought they were a couple. The girl glued to him like a leech when they came. Probably, he is a womanizer. I hate men who stare at other women while they are in a relationship. Moreover, they are with their girlfriends or wives, but they roam other women." She confessed, shaking her head in disapproval.

I bit my lower lip nervously and entwined my hands tightly, looking down without saying anything.

"Do you know him?" Greta asked, puzzled, giving me an inquiring look as she noticed my expression.

I nibbled my lower lip, blushing. "It is Ethan." I mumbled.

"...Oh." She murmured, surprised. "He will make a hole on your back if he keeps looking at you this way." She added, giving me an amused smile.

I turned around and looked at him nervously.

As our eyes met, he gave me a loathed look

As our eyes met, he gave me a loathed look. I averted my eyes. Greta gave me an apologetic smile. I forced a smile, shrugging my shoulders.

Shit! Nathan.

I hope he will not wake up while Ethan is here. Otherwise, what will I do?!

"Greta, I don't want Ethan to see Nathan. Could you go to Nathan? When he wakes up and sees he is alone, he starts crying." I asked nervously.

"Ok, dear. I am going. Don't worry." She replied, giving me a smile.

"Thanks." I sighed, depressed.

"Umm...Antonio, could you take these to table 6?" I asked as he approached me.

"Sure." He responded, giving me a bright smile.

"Thanks." I gave him a grateful smile.

I was preparing the orders when I heard the familiar voice coming behind me.

"Grace."

My heartbeats increased. I turned around slowly.

I looked at Ethan who was standing in front of me, his hand in his pocket. He plunged his piercing eyes into mine, making me lost in his ocean blue orbs.

"Hmm

"Hmm...You dropped your university to work as a waitress?!" He commented arrogantly and gave me a sardonic smirk.

I clenched my fist angrily.

"I didn't drop my university. I suspended my studies." I informed.

"I hope it was worth delaying your dreams, because you didn't want to see me." He said bitterly, a mix of sadness and anger in his eyes.

"Ethan..."

"Is there a problem?" Antonio asked, giving me a questioning look as he approached us and placed his hand on my lower back.

Ethan raised his eyebrow as he clenched his fist angrily. His muscles tensed as he looked at Antonio's arm while his hand was still resting on my back. He gave Antonio a murderous look.

"No, Antonio. Everything is okay." I responded, giving him a slight smile.

He looked at Ethan coldly, then he turned his gaze from him to me and nodded, unconvinced. Then he left, leaving Ethan and I alone.

"Your new victim?" Ethan asked sarcastically, giving me a cocky grin. But I noticed a sadness in his eyes.

"Ethan..." I pleaded.

He gave me an insolent look and walked away without letting me finish my sentence.

He grabbed the girl's hand and headed them towards the exit. As he was about to walk out, he turned around and gave me a cold glare.

As he disappeared from my sight, I rushed to the restroom. As soon as I closed the door, I burst out crying.

"Grace..." Greta walked in and closed the door behind her.

I hugged her, crying hysterically. She hugged me back and stroked my back gently.

"I love him. I love him so much." I confessed, gripping her blouse while crying.

"Oh...dear." She sighed, still hugging me. "Come on, dear. Calm down. Let's wash your face." She said, giving me a compassionate smile as she pulled back.

After washing my face, I calmed down a little.

Suddenly, I heard a baby cry.

"Nathan woke up. I need to go beside him." I mumbled, sobbing.

"I will..." Greta suggested, giving a sympathetic look.

"No. You know if Nathan doesn't see me as he wakes up, he will not stop crying." I said, giving her a grateful smile. She nodded.

When I walked into the office, Nathan looked at me, sobbing. He looked so cute. I smiled at him.

"My boy. Mommy is here." I cooed Nathan as I approached him.

I took him in my arms and leaned his head against my chest. He gripped my blouse and stopped crying. I kissed his head and breathed in his milky scent. I was stroking his back while thinking about Ethan.

****

Two days had passed since Ethan and I came across. I couldn't get him out of my mind. After seeing him again, I felt worse. I missed him more than before.

"Hey, Grace. You lost in your thoughts again." Greta commented, tapping my hand as she gave me a sad smile.

"Umm...sorry...What were you telling?" I asked, giving her an apologetic look.

"I think it will be the best if you rest today. Don't go to the cafe. Antonio and I will handle it." She said, giving me a sympathetic look.

"No, Greta. Thank you. At least, when I work, I don't have any time to think about...Ethan." I sighed, depressed. She nodded.

After getting Nathan ready, Greta and I went to the cafe. Nathan was moody today. He had been crying non-stop. So Greta suggested that I take Nathan to the park. I accepted.

As I turned around to get orders, I bumped into a hard surface.

"I am sor..." When I lifted my head, my eyes met a pair of familiar eyes. "Ethan..." I muttered, surprised, looking into two mesmerizing blue eyes.

He took a step back, looking at me with a blank expression. He placed his hands into his pockets as he roamed my body from head to toe.

"We need to talk." He said in a bossy tone.
