Promise

So I wrote a blog:

When I first heard the song the first thing I thought is that Park Jimin is an angel, like his voice sounds so light and pretty and perfect. The song was calming and I liked the lyrics. After listing to it the second time I wanted to cry. The first time I listened to it I was mostly just listing to it and not paying as much attention to the words. I wanted to hear it before I knew what it was about. The second time I paid attention to only the lyrics while I listened to it.

The song seems to be him singing to a person who he feels he is losing and in the song he is saying he wants to make them happy. One of the first lines he sings is  "I Just wanna blow your mind" and "I want you to be your light, babe you should be your light." I believe that he is saying to this person that he wants them to love themselves.

He also never mentions a gender in the song so he could be talking about boy or a girl or other or possibly a group.

He also sings in the song "so that I could be honest to you tonight" which makes this song sound like he may be wanting to confess something to whomever he was thinking about when writing this. I can't tell weather he is singing about this unnamed person as a crush or a friend or his fans but whoever it it he clearly cares about them and has something to tell them once they are finally happy and smiling.

He said in his tweet that "This is a song for me, but also a song for you." So I think maybe he wrote it to match the theme of the last three BTS albums and made it about loving yourself, which would perfectly fit the lyrics to the song. I thing the song is titled promise because he wants the person or people or ARMY he is singing to to promise that they will love themselves.

I may be wrong about all of this, it is just my opinion but that is what I think the song is about.
