Church bells, boom down the alley
Dong, Dong, Dong!
Summon all the faithful to mission
Hear the monks shout,
"Praise the Lord."
Priest declare the word
Nuns usher the people in
Kneel and pray before the cross
Forgive all the wrong
Oh holy day
Oh holy day
No school
No work
Only celebration
Sliver bells echoing down the alley
Ringing and Ring
Faintly the roar of the parade in cheer
"Oh joyous day!"
Dancers twirl and musicians play
Bang the drum
Waves those arms
The magnificent moment has arrived
Release the doves
Oh holy day,
Oh holy day,
No school
No work
Only play
Copper Bells, Copper bells, Copper bells lay muted.
No one hears the copper bells.
No one ever hears copper bells.
Snowflakes drift down
No words shall be spoken
The homeless child is still
And no one knows
No one cares
Snowflakes fall
Bury the unsightly thing
The most wonderful day of the year is here
Mark no grave for the child
Oh holy day
Oh holy day
No breath
No sound
Only ignorance
Only indifference
