Early this morning School took a knife to Summer
Effectively ending the young one’s life.
Summer’s light faded away
Leaving some of us sooner than others.
In the end leaving us all.
This was no surprise,
As School had threatened Summer before
Earlier this year.
We thank you for the laughs
We thank you for the memories with our friends and our families
We thank you for the vacations you gave us the time for
And the hot days we spent in the pools and on the beach
Rest In Peace Summer 2014
You will be missed,
But you will never be forgotten.
