A U T H O R ' S N O T E

The art of poetry can take years to perfect. Each word must pack a punch, each sentence reach into your soul and pluck out its darkest memories. Poems are programmed to touch your heart, crush it, and heal it. If it does more, its software must be revolutionary.

You should look for those revolutionary poems, because those not only shape your heart, but also keep it beating.

I N F O

1. So, poetry has never been my strong suit. You probably know that by now. But, for some reason, visiting Japan two years ago somehow inspired me to write them. Also, one of my 2019 resolutions is to post a poetry book, so now I have to follow through.

2. No quotes at the beginning of the chapter for this. Yes, I know I do it in my other stories, but since my poems are short, the quotes would overshadow them, you know? I mean, the poems are basically the quotes.

3. Also, I might touch on topics such as anxiety, depression, body image, eating disorders, etcetera. It could get a bit gloomy, but don't worry, I'll chuck a couple of happy-go-lucky ones in there for old times' sake.
