stop copying me
stop plagiarising me

changing one word in a sentence
switching one word in a sentence

does not give you ownership
does not grant you ownership

of my intellectual exclusive property
of my intellectual private property

who gave you the right
who gave you the permission

to snatch away my creation
to steal away my invention

and cover my name with yours
and cloak my title with yours

to take credit for stealing
to take acclaim for thievery

attract readers with fake words
lure readers with faux words

shoving the writer backstage
pushing the creator backstage

to watch as their creations are applauded
to watch as their words are praised

by an audience who sees centre stage
by a group who observes centre stage

but never checks behind the curtains
but seldom checks beyond the curtains

because why should they believe me?
for why should we believe you?

when I claim you violated my trust?
when you claim I violated your trust?

my word against yours
your word against mine

when both are identical
when both are identical

so make the right choice
so take the right path

use your head for more than a hatrack
use your brain for more than a second

my words are my words
none of these are my words

and yours are yours
but maybe they could be

so put pen to paper
write your own stories

go ahead and show me
how talented you can be
