before any of us were born
stars were studded on midnight
forming lazy rivers of galaxies
keeping daisies and roses alightyou were shaped by those stars
at a hundred thousand degrees
sculpted from asteroids and comets
bringing jupiter to his kneesleaves perk up at your touch
and wind bends to your will
while your bare feet on the grass
brings nature to a standstillfrom one human to another
your impact may seem small
but you were built from stardust
and you're an inspiration to us all.
