I sat at my vanity, brushing my hair. Lucy was humming in a nearby chair, mending a torn seam in the sleeve of my wedding dress.

My wedding dress.

I could hardly believe it. By the end of the tomorrow, I would be married.

I stopped brushing and glanced down at the ring on my hand.

A perfect amethyst stone curled around an equally perfect peridot, small whorls of gold surrounding both gems. It was a beautiful contrast that still took my breath away every time I saw it.

It should've looked asymmetrical with the birthstones, but somehow... it wasn't. It was fierce, and bold, and beautiful.
