Percy:
I held Zöe in my arms and stroked her little tuft of thick black hair. She's beautiful, and I can honestly say I've never felt so proud in my whole life.
I'm a big brother. "I'm going to be this best big brother you could ever ask for." I promised Zöe, "We can go swimming and we can eat cookies and annoy mom..." Zöe smiled and laughed, a sweet little sound. "Percy, I'm sure you'll be the best brother in the world." Mom smiled, as she took Zöe's tiny little hand in her own. "I'm sure he will." Said another voice, it was a warm, deep voice. A voice I'd heard many times before, but it couldn't be. It couldn't be him.
I turned and standing before me was a smiling man, with a broad grin and sparking eyes. His skin was tanned and his hands weathered from years of fishing. He wore khaki shorts and an old Hawaiian beach top.
I caught my breath and tried to stop my mouth falling open. "Dad?!" "Hello Percy." Poseidon smiled, "Hello Sally." My mom looked ready to faint. "Poseidon?" Mom muttered in disbelief. "What....what are you doing here?" He laughed heartily. "I bring a gift, a gift for young Zöe. I'd like to bless her, give her the blessing of Poseidon. I'm allowed to do that, because she's Percy's sister." "Do what?" I demanded. "What does your blessing do?" "It gives her the ability," Poseidon explained. "To have the same powers as you."
