Percy:

I screamed as loud as my lungs could take it as I grabbed the nearest chair and slammed it into the wall. "WHY?! WHY HER?!" I yelled as I drove my fist into the wall, my skin ripped and I belt the warm runny blood drip off my knuckle.

Footsteps echoed across the hall but I didn't look to see who it was. I slumped against the wall and fell to the ground. Letting out a strangled sob. "Brother?" Whimpered a soft, worried voice.

I sighed and wiped away some stray tears before looking up at Tyson. Seeing him made me feel a little better, with his messy hair and crooked grin- the same flannel shirt he always wears and his faded old jeans. In his arms he held Zöe- who looked tiny lying in his big beefy hands. "Hey buddy." I smiled, letting him pull me up.

He handed me Zöe and I took her gently. "I looked after her!" He grinned, bursting with pride. "All by myself!" Despite everything, a laugh tumbled out of my mouth, "Well done big guy! Good job." He looked at the ward door and his expression saddened. "Mommy?" He whimpered. I sighed, my mom isn't related to Tyson at all- his mom is a nymph. But Sally is the closest thing Tyson has ever had to a mother, and she loves him like her own son. "She's... Not great." I admitted, and if possible his face dropped even more. "I'm sorry buddy." "Is she..." He sniffed. "Is she gonna be okay?" I nodded and reached up to wipe away a big salty tear that was about to fall from his oversized face. "Hey, hey. Of course she's gonna be okay. She's just... Needs taking care of for a while." "Percy you can tell me what's going on y'know." He sniffed. "I'm not a baby." I felt my jaw drop open. I'd never seen my baby brother seem so grown up. And it hurt.
