"I had a lot of fun with you tonight, actually."

The heat that went to your cheeks was unreal. You smiled, nodding and pushing a lock of hair behind your ear. "Yeah, I had fun, too." You looked at him and paused in front of your door.

"So you're rooming with Betty?" Flash asked.

"Uh, yeah," you said. "Kind of... weird now. A little."

"Why?" he asked. Then he tipped his head back and let out an exaggerated "Oh..."

"Yeah," you said. "Well, I'd better go ahead and leave you alone-"

"Oh, okay," he said. He gave a half wave. "See you... tomorrow? At the museum."

"Yeah," you said. You shoved the hotel key card into the slot and the lock flashed green. You pushed it open. "Goodnight, Flash-"

"Hey, I just wanna say that I had a lot of fun with you tonight," he blurted. "And I know I already said it, but I'm saying that because I seriously don't want tonight to end. I really like hanging out with you and I, uh, can't wait to hang out with you tomorrow, too." He shoved his hands in his pants pockets. "Yup. Okay. Bye."

He walked off.

You grinned from ear to ear as you watched him go. Stifling a laugh, you shut the door softly and tiptoed to bed, careful not to wake up Betty.

//

The next morning, you woke up early with butterflies in your stomach. You dressed really cute, and you weren't sure why. But you did, and after stopping at the hotel lobby for free breakfast, you waited in the armchairs by the front doors for everyone else.

Peter was the next one down. He grabbed a muffin and bottle of orange juice and stood by you.

"Hey," he said, and he was smiling.

You found your heart cringing at the sight of him. You glanced at him, then looked away. "Hey."

"You're here early," he said.

"Yeah," you said.

He furrowed his eyebrows. "Is... something wrong?"

"No," you sighed, looking at him. You forced a grin. "I am just great, actually."

"Did I do something wrong?" he asked.

"I don't know, Peter. Did you?" When he still looked like he had no idea what you were talking about, you rolled your eyes. At the same time, the elevators slid open and Ned, Betty, and Flash were walking off. Seeing Flash made you want to go right over to him so you stood right up. Ready to stomp off, Peter reached out and grabbed your wrist.

"Hey," he said. "Talk to me, dude."

"Why?" you demanded.

"Because... because we're best friends," he said, hurt.

"Are we, Peter?" You pressed your lips together. "Did you forget something yesterday?"

His mouth dropped open. "I don't think... no?"

"No? What about me, Peter?"

His mouth dropped completely open. "Oh."

"Yeah. Oh."
