Chapter 8 ( Decisions)

after her dad dropped her off at Granny's she mainly stuck to Ruby like glue Ruby knew Mia liked to spend time with her but she knew something else was going on she looked at her swollen cheek and knew it had something to do with that Ruby bent down to Mia's level and said why don't we get some ice for that she said to the little girl Mia nodded Ruby set Mia on the counter behind the kitchen and handed her a rag with ice cubes in it hold it there she said Mia nodded Granny walked in and looked at the little girl with a smile she waved at Granny with a big smile on her face the two women always loved Mia her father not so much it's almost closing time Granny said why don't you take Mia home and wait for Mr.Gold granny said to ruby Ruby nodded picking Mia up and walking out

After telling Mia to go upstairs and change Ruby heard a knock on the door Ruby went to answer it and when she saw Emma on the other side of the door she smiled Ruby what are you doing here Emma asked watching Mia till Mr.Gold returns she said about that Emma said can i come in Emma asked Ruby nodded I'm actually here to talk to you about Mr.Gold she then sighed and looked at the staircase is Mia already in bed she asked i don't think its a good idea if she hears about this just yet

she's changing Ruby said what's happened she asked 

Emma pinched the bridge of her nose Mr.Gold attacked Mr.French Emma said Ruby's eyes got wide Emma nodded beat the guy with his cane she said that man Ruby said Emma nodded so now Moe is in the hospital and Gold is locked up at the station Emma explained So what's going to happen to Mia Ruby asked worried  

Emma shrugged from what i have seen in cases like these the child can stay with the parent but that was when the victim wasn't going to press charges Moe right before he passed out stated that he wanted to press charges so now I'm going to have to call the Mayor and see Emma admitted reluctantly hating the idea of having to turn to Regina for advice 

Ruby nodded I understand well let Regina know that if Mia cannot stay with Mr.Gold then she is more than welcomed to stay with me and Granny she said 

Emma looked at Ruby before checking her watch knowing that she couldn't leave Gold at the station without her there for too long if Mia wants she can come and see Gold in the morning but bail hasn't been posted yet so i don't know when he'll be able to come home she said 

Ruby nodded once again then sensing that Emma needed to leave opened the door for her I'll talk to Mia in a little bit and if she's up for it in the morning we'll bring her to the station 

Emma walked out of the door and waved goodbye to Ruby before heading to her car once she got in she looked up at the window on the second floor that had light coming through it she knew that it was most likely Mia's room she frowned sadly at the thought of everything the girl had been going through for the past month it seemed like the poor girl couldn't catch a break 

She then pulled out her phone and dialed Regina's number it rang twice before the Mayor answered Madame Mayor there has been an incident 

Ruby stood there in shock then pulled out her phone to call Granny she explained what had happened and told Granny that she was going to stay with Mia Granny's heart broke for the little girl and told Ruby to take good care of her that she will be there in the morning 

after Ruby hung up the dark haired woman made her way towards the staircase and then up the steps her thoughts on how to explain the situation to Mia Ruby knew that Mia would be upset to know the truth but to tell a little girl that her father was in jail for beating another person...it was going to be a bit more difficult than telling her that her dad was going to be staying at the shop late
