The pub was brimming with people and Fay was busier than ever. She flew from table to table like an excited fox in a chicken's coop. The ground rumbled beneath her. Fay stopped, surprised. Again the ground rumbled. The world began fading away. Fay's eyes popped open, jolted awake from the movement of... a carriage?

'Why on earth am I in a carriage?'

She looked around, beautifully crafted velvet surrounded her. On each door there were treats and hors d'oeuvres, bottles of wine and champagne sat between her and the opposite seats. To her left, Jack was leaning on his door, asleep. Directly in front of her, Bathory was also unconscious, stirring a bit. Lizzie was to her right, also sleeping, resting her head on the cushioned boarding behind her. Fay peered out the window, pulling back the red and gold curtains to find a dark and blank world. The horizon was rocky, the earth was gray, the sky was an inky black with only a few off shaded clouds swirling above to break the darkness. Fay sat back, not knowing how to feel, what to think, what to do. She looked at the door to her right. Small cakes cookies, candies and other sweets sat in little silver platters that clinked together as the carriage moved. Fay proceeded to stuff her face, the sugary indulgence calmed her. She hadn't realized how much she'd missed eating. The food replenished itself fast. She had consumed five cakes, ten cookies, half a bottle of red wine, and 3 macrons before Bathory started waking up. She muttered in her sleep, shifting, uncomfortable. Her eyes fluttered open and squinted up at the ceiling light above her. She looked around, blinking, confused at the situation. Fay only watched her, a half chewed macron in her mouth, holding a glass of wine.

Fay swallowed thickly, chugging the glass before putting it back. "Good to see you awake now Bath, there's food if you want some. I suppose you're hungry, I was too."

Bathory lit up, she picked up some treats, examining them and asking what they were. On some trays, the food began to shift. Fay recognized shepherd's pie, fish and chips, among other foods she didn't know. Some of the sweets and the wine remained. Bathory picked up a plate and began eating a soup of sorts. She muttered in what Fay assumed to be Hungarian, smiling. Fay returned to eating, now slower, comforted by the warmth and familiarity of her native cuisine. After close to two hours of silence Fay looked up at Bathory, locking eyes with her for only a second before stiffening with fear. Bathory's eyes had changed. They were once a light brown color, full of intelligence and wit, now they were owlish and glassy, her giant pupils only broken by a thin, bright yellow iris.

Bathory raised an eyebrow. "What?" She asked through a mouthful of bread.

"Your eyes, you have owl eyes now." Fay said, calming as she got used to the strange new feature.

Bathory examined her reflection in an empty tray. "Huh, interesting." She shrugged and continued to eat.

Fay laughed a little at her friends indifference, also returning to her food. Another hour of silence passed before Jack and Lizzie awoke. Lizzie moved first, groaning in pain, blearily blinking at them.

"What...the fuck? Where am I?" She looked around them popping her neck. She spotted Fay and Bathory almost immediately. "Uhm, do either of you know what's going on?" Her right hand was covered in blood. Other than that and the streak down her face, she was clean.

"Nope." Both said in usion.

Lizzie sighed and leaned back in her seat. "I thought so."

"Take something to eat love, the shepard's pie is wonderful, so's the wine." Fay said, pointing to the now shifting platters.

Some American dishes were being added to the mix, along with strange bottles on the floor. Lizzie watched with fascination as the trays transformed, the food bulging and twisting into different shapes and contents.
