"I love this dress."
"We look so pretty."
Caroline and Roman furrowed their eyebrows as they followed the laughter.
"How did you- These could have fallen on you. What have I been telling you? You need to be careful. And these dresses are not playclothes."
Caroline told her kids seriously, seeing as they had gotten their dresses for the wedding down by themselves.
"We're practicing."
Josie grinned as Roman gave her a small smile.
"For the wedding."
Lizzie added in twirling as Roman laughed.
"Look I know you girls are excited about the wedding, and wearing these dresses and all of it but it might not be as soon as Mommy promised."
Caroline sighed as Roman rested a hand on her shoulder comfortingly.
"Why?"
Lizzie frowned.
"Well, people who love each other don't always get married. It doesn't mean they don't love each other, it just doesn't always work out that way-"
"Like Uncle Roman and Enzo?"
Josie asked as Roman choked on air.
Caroline glanced at her friend in shock trying to gauge his reaction.
"W-What are you talking about princess?"
Roman frowned as he swallowed hard.
"You were supposed to get married but daddy said that Uncle Enzo went away."
Josie frowned.
"Where did he go?"
Lizzie asked as well as Roman kneeled in front of them.
"I love Enzo very much, but he had to go home for a while."
Roman bit back tears as he saw Caroline watching him intently.
"Why?"
The twins frowns deepened.
"I don't know, I'm still wondering that too."
Roman whispered rubbing the girl's shoulders.
"Sorry, I'm gonna take a walk."
Roman mumbled offering a fake smile to the girls and swiftly walking out of the room.
He hurried down the stairs, ready to leave when his brother bursting through the door made him stop in his tracks.
"Oh my God."
Roman sighed sarcastically as Damon grinned.
"Sorry, this was the only place with a holding cell. Little help?""So, you just opted to help me with this homicidal lunatic instead of spending a moment with your darling co-children. Care to elaborate?"
Damon questioned his brother as the boy watched Kai Parker explore his cell.
"Right now I'm actually thankful to see Kai."
Roman chuckled smiling at his brother, not having seen him in days.
"Lizzie and Josie need Stefan just as bad as they need Roman."
Caroline sighed, wishing her fiancé was with them.
"Ugh. Enough about Stefan, already. What you guys need is someone who can explain to you what's going on with your Gemini Coven twins."
Kai interrupted as Roman laughed.
"Huh, sure there's someone around here who could help with that but I can't quite put my finger on him."
Kai jokingly pointed to himself.
"There he is. This guy."
"I'll be right back."
Roman sighed walking out to go find Alaric.
"Ric, Kai thinks-"
Roman stopped in his tracks as he saw his twin.
The boys stared at each other pain all over both of their faces.
"Roman."
Stefan breathed out.
Alaric slowly walked a distance away, wanting to give the twins privacy.
Tears began to gather in Roman's eyes as Stefan shook his head.
"I'm so sorry."
Stefan whispered.
Roman sniffled, Bonnie having explained to him the situation Stefan was in and how he was now human.
"It wasn't your fault."
Roman shook his head softly, wrapping his brother in a tight hug.
"I love you baby brother."
"I love you too Stefan."❁
"Hello, Clarice, and beautiful boy."
Roman chuckled as he and Caroline walked up to Kai's cell.
"You killed your sister, Jo, you tried to kill her kids too so why would you be interested in helping?"
Caroline furrowed her eyebrows.
"Because it's the same thing that happened to Kai."
Roman smirked, happy to have greater knowledge of a situation once again.
Kia grinned with a nod pointing to Roman.
"Didn't the same thing happening to Jo?"
Caroline furrowed her eyebrows, glancing between the two.
"Jo wasn't a siphon. Jo was a Glenda. Perfect little witch who could do spells and make things float. People would clap, oh look at Josie, yes. Now, I was a kid who was walking around like an addict, fiending for a hit like I was on fire all the time. And they didn't understand it. So they isolated me. Couldn't even touch anyone. That screwed me up, big time."
Kai sighed as Roman frowned.
"All of you were so quick to judge him Caroline, you don't know what he went through."
Roman pursed his lips as Caroline frowned.
"How do we fix them?"
Caroline asked softly.
"Well, I chose to become a sociopath with a penchant for murder and mayhem-"
"Which we don't want to happen."
Roman grinned at Kai.
"Look around. You're in the hotbed of supernatural energy. The artifacts and books and talismans and God knows what else, witches can literally eat that up, they siphon it without even trying."
Kai told them as Roman sighed, wishing he would've remembered that.
"So, the girls' magic is going haywire because we brought them to the Armory."
Caroline realized as Roman nodded.
"Ding! Worst possible place to bring a siphon, like easily the worst. There is practically magic in the walls."
Roman's eyes widened as he saw the glint in Kai's eyes.
"Caroline we have to-"
Roman stopped as Kai used his magic snapping the vampires' necks.
Darkness consuming them as they hit the ground.
