Bella
First lesson. Thursday. One day away from Friday and it never looked like it would end.
I was not happy.
Halfway through the lesson, a dull pain had started in my stomach. That was quickly followed by feeling sick and I wasn't sure how long I'd last without throwing up.
By the end of the lesson, my back was hurting and it felt like I was having period cramps, plus the sharp pain that was already there.
I didn't even think I could move out the lesson.
Harry came over at the end anyway, but immediately crouched down when he saw me. I guess I was showing my pain.
It was pretty hard not to cry infront of everyone.
He grabbed my bag and lightly held my hand.
"What's wrong? Do we need to call Luke?"
I nodded and moved, immediately regretting the decision. Miss turned round, looking confused but didn't question.
"I'm gonna be sick," I announced.
Somehow, the bin was passed to me in time for me to be sick into it. Harry held my hair back and rubbed my back, telling me it was ok.
But it wasn't.
The pain was getting worse and worse and I started to cry. Miss left the room but quickly came back with the school nurse. She barely looked at me before rushing away.
"I know it hurts but crying might make it worse since you're moving your stomach or something... when did this start?" Harry whispered.
"Middle of this lesson, it just got way worse,"
After what felt like years of agony, some paramedics arrived. Luke and Ashton weren't with them and Harry couldn't come which made me even more panicked and uncomfortable.
"Harry I need Ashton or Luke," I sobbed, shakily handing him my phone to call them.
I was moved to the ambulance where they rested me on the bed which was slightly propped up.
"Where does it hurt, can I look?" one of them asked.
I shook my head and aimlessly waved my hand to stop them.
"I want Luke," I bawled.
"Who's Luke sweetie?" another of them asked.
"Dr Hemmings, Dr Irwin. I want them, only them,"
The ride to the hospital was horrendous. I couldn't have any medicine due to what they thought it was and I didn't want any of them near me. They terrified me.
We arrived at the hospital.
Someone put my gown on but I couldn't be bothered to make a fuss about being undressed.I was being hooked up to several machines, the pain still present. I'd thrown up once again and everything just seemed to be getting worse. Luke nor Ashton has arrived and I deafened everyone with me crying.
The curtain flew open and someone walked in. A few of the nurses left and the ones who stayed dispersed.
"I want Luke," I whined.
The boy came over and gently placed his head on my forehead then pulled the hair out my face, tying it with a bobble.
"I want Luke," I sighed.
"Hey, hey... Luke is coming. I'm one of his interns and he is on his way. I'm Tom, what's your name?" he said quietly.
"Bella," I said, feeling myself about to be sick again. I gagged and he passed me a sick bowl, rubbing my back while I threw up.
Ashton walked through while I was being sick.
"Shi- Bella baby, what's wrong? Tell me where it hurts,"
As soon as I finished being sick, the tears started flowing and I pointed to my stomach.
Luke came rushing in, coming to my side and ordering Tom to prepare a blood test and check what surgery places there were.
I looked at Ashton with wide eyes. Luke took the opportunity to measure my temperature by putting a machine in my ear. I tried to push him away but it didn't work.
"You have a fever, Bella when did this start?"
"First lesson," I sobbed.
"It's her abdomen, can we figure this out quick because she is in agony," Ashton said, washing his hands and putting gloves on.
Tom returned with the blood test so Luke stepped aside. He looked surprised for a moment but continued anyway.
I groaned as he slipped the needle in, wanting to be anywhere but here. I leant my head back and tried to focus on something other than the pain, breathing heavily.
The blood test finished and they took it for emergency testing, leaving me with Luke and Ashton.
"I need to look at your stomach Bella because it could be very dangerous if I don't," Luke said, putting a lot of stress on the sentence. He pulled the gown up, bringing the cover over my legs and revealing my stomach.
I held Ashton's hand tightly as I felt his rubber gloves touch my skin. Even at the top, my stomach felt tender.
"Please stop, please," I begged desperately. Ashton tried to quieten me down- usually this would work- but it only made me more distressed.
Luke was lightly going around my stomach, reaching where I had most discomfort.
"No, not there Luke please," I gasped, holding in my scream. He barely even touched the area before I tugged his hand away.
"Bella, I need to look for signs of inflammation and I know it hurts but you have to let me do this," he said sternly.
Again, he pressed down on the same areas but with more pressure. I weeped, letting him examine my stomach gently. It didn't feel gentle but I knew it was.
"I'm sorry love, it's over now. I want an ultrasound on her Appendix while we wait for the results, can you do one while I sort everything out?" Luke said to Ashton.
He nodded and grabbed a wheelchair from the corner. They carefully lifted me into it and we left.
Once the initial coldness and pain was over, the ultrasound was easily the most comfortable thing to happen yet. It didn't last long.
The results were emailed to Luke but Ashton turned to me.
"Bella, I promise you there's no reason to panic, but I think we are going to remove your appendix,"
