I cannot help but stop
and look at vegetative, fertile fronds.
Now, 'involuntary' is just the word
to get me wondering
if 'fertile fronds' are, indeed, nonsexual.
I cannot help
but stop and look
at the twig-dogwood.
Does the dogwood make you shiver?
One afternoon, I said to myself,
"Why aren't European elms more little?"
Never forget the massive, handsome European elms!
Black boughs are orchard forests.
Orchard forests are black boughs.
Sss, sss, sss!
Celebrated cedars,
however hard they try,
will always be leaves.
