Once a story teller
Stood in a crowd
His head was low
Their hooting was loud

Then he raised a hand
The audience went quiet
He had a new idea
And was ready to try it

So he stood at the stage
And said his hello
What was coming next
No one did know

"Once, from the top of a cloud
A little drop looked down
She had heard a loud rustle
And was curious about the sound

When she took a peek
She saw a tall tree
Majestic and breathtaking
More enchanting than one could be

He stood there so firm
Wind made his leaves rustle
He didn't seem to care
About the hustle bustle

The drop was petrified
Watching from a hight
Never before in her life
She had seen such a sight

The tree stood so tall
It's branches spread out
Then a ball hit him
He didn't even shout

But for some reason
The drop felt it at her heart
It had hit her so hard
She felt like falling apart

Then the sun came out
It's heat so intense
The tree made a shade
Without asking for a pence

The people saw the shadow
And they came running
But the drop only thought
The tree must be burning

She saw his fruit being plucked
And hissed at the pain
But she couldn't stop them
It was all in vain

The tree tensed up
He had heard the sound
So, as quite as possible
He then, looked around

The drop hid herself
But it was no use
The tree had seen her
And now was amused

The drop took a peek
And saw the tree stare
Her cheeks warmed up
The tree didn't care

He waved a leaf at her
And the drop smiled back
But as she was shy
Enthusiasm it lacked

The leaves rustled again
The sound of the tree's laugh
The drop covered her face
The uncovered a half

Soon the Sun went away
The tree calmed down
People left him alone
And disappeared in the town

But the drop sat there
Looking at the tree
She was as happy
As anyone could be

Then the smile vanished
The tree had sighed
He looked very thirsty
When she asked, he denied

The drop wanted to help
He was facing so much
He looked now so weak
He would shatter at a touch

The tree's eyes went wide
He was dead sure he knew
What the drop, his new friend
Was now going to do

The drop had thought a lot
She couldn't think of anything else
So she closed her little eyes
...And jumped over the edge

The tree reached out
Trying to catch her
He knew she would fall
On the ground and shatter

She had jumped too far
And she got confused
The tree tried to catch her
But then... he had roots

They went very deep
Inside the ground
And so the tree
Could not move around

The clouds started to cry
When the drop splashed
Winds tried to make him rustle
But he stood there aghast..."

The story teller fell quiet
The story came to an end
None clapped but a girl
Only she knew what he had meant....
