"Can I ask you something?" Nel is trying to reach Nellie's hands. They're both sitting in the backseat of Nellie's two-year old gray Sedan.
"What is that?" Nellie asked and opened her eyes as she felt Nelson's warm gentle kiss on her forehead. She lays her head down to his shoulder and let out a deep contented breathe.
"I'm just wondering, how long are we going to be like this?" Nelson asked.
"You mean sitting in my car, waiting for the sunset. Probably 'til five or six?" Nellie asked while eyes shut and smiling.
Nelson made a short laugh but his shoulders were left shaking with his chuckle so Nellie turns to him. "Hey, I'm taking a nap here don't move".
"You're a silly Kitty, did you know that?" I wanted us to be like this. I mean always like this." said Nel looking as the sun kissed the calm, smooth surface of the Lake.
They're at the City Lake park where they first met. Unfortunately, they can't visit here as often as they want because of Nel's hectic schedule and security issues.
The reason why they're here is that he made a perfect excuse to visit his Mom on her birthday. Both agreed to drop by and relax in a comforting scene of the park, lake and sunset. Everything compliments to each other, including their feelings for each other.
Few months ago since Nellie made an epic scene at the concert and was rushed to the hospital, Nelson picked her up next day from the hospital. It was the beginning of a good friendship that blossomed into romantic feeling.
Four and a half months ago...
"Want to have a big breakfast or coffee, Nellie?" Nelson asked her while driving along the hospital exit. "Nah, probably I need to take a nap for I wasn't able to sleep since you visited yesterday" she turned to him with a grin.
"Oh why, you're crazy!" laughing but his eyebrows frowned and look at her.
"Hey, focus on driving!" she dismissed his laughing gestures and look at the bright sunshine and closed her eyes, feel the warmth of it's rays as it gently touch her face. Then, she felt much warmer when Nel just hold her hand, filling the gaps of their fingers like it fits perfectly together. Softly, gently Nel kissed her hand.
As soon as his lips touched her skin, Nellie open her eyes and look at him. Finally, he's holding the steering wheel with his two hands while Nellie was left looking at him.
Nel can see her hazel eyes, just in his peripheral view she looks perfectly beautiful in her curls. He wanted to look at her directly but he remembers how he used to look at her just like that. He enjoys seeing her fix her eyes on him, as if he didn't know...
"I love the way you do that" said Nellie. "You seem so serious but deep inside you are the sweetest and thoughtful guy I've ever met".
" Really? I'm a great kisser, too. You want to find out?" Nel said without smiling or looking at her. He's waiting for her to answer but he had a perfect view of her at the corner of his eyes, looking puzzled or nervous.
"Hey, I'm just kidding!" Said Nel.
"No it's not a good time to make a joke! You see I just came from the hospital and I still feel sleepy and... " Nellie blurted out without having noticed that the car made a full stop and he bumped on her lips so fast. He grab her hands to his chest. She can feel it rising and falling but her heart seems like racing. When their lips parted, she almost had a heart attack. Looking shock, she asked "Why did you..."
Nel didn't wait to let her finish her question, "It's not a joke. I love you".
