I woke up in a cell. "Great. Just what I wanted. To be thrown into a jail cell." I muttered sarcastically leaning against the brick wall. "At least you're not alone." Landon announced sitting on the floor across from me. "Were you watching me sleep?" I asked raising a brow. "No. I just woke up a few minutes ago." Landon said. I nodded my head. "I need to get out of here." I voiced. I saw the moon out side the small square window in the cell. "I don't do small spaces. Not on nights like these." I said breathing heavily. "Neither do I. Not a fan." Landon stated. "Scott. Landon." Hope said. I walked to her. "Why am I in this jail cell?" I asked. "We had to." Hope said. "You had to? You had to throw me into a cell like some animal?" I asked walking away. "It's a werewolf transition room." Hope explained. I turned around to glare at her. "That doesn't sound any better. Look we didn't know that you two would be immune to compulsion." Hope said. "Is that what that hocus pocus is called?" I asked clenching my jaws. "You guys must have taken vervain." Hope stated. "Vervain? What the hell is vervain?" I asked. "It's a flower that makes the consumer immune to vampire compulsion." Hope explained. "I need to get out of here." I sounded feeling my head pounding. "I'm sorry I can't let you two go. Not until tomorrow when you'll be compelled again." Hope pointed out. I rolled my eyes. She walked away. I slid down the brick wall and sat next to Landon.
Landon was taken out of the room by Hope to see Alaric. The struggle to control my shift was becoming a lost cause. My eyes flashed red for a split second as my claws began to dig into the pillow. "Scott?" Hope voiced. I pulled my claws out of the pillow. "I get it. You need to keep it a secret. I understand. I have secrets too. So if you need to memory wipe me then fine. Go ahead. Don't let me stop you." I stated refusing to look at her. I rested my chin on arms as I pulled my knees to my chest. Hope let out a sigh as she sat down beside me. "Everything will get better I promise." Hope announced. I scoffed shaking my head. "You know. Everyone keeps telling me that but do they actually mean it?" I countered. Hope stuck her hand through the door and put it on my shoulder. "I do." Hope whispered with a smile before she stood up and left me alone.
I let out a long drawn-out sigh before I felt immense pain erupt throughout my body. I slammed my hands against the floor as black claws flicked out. My claws raked against the cool stony floor. I let out a scream as my eyes glowed bright blood red. I rose to my feet and leaned against the wall breathing heavily. I slammed my fists into the wall feeling the claws dig into the palms of my hands while hair grew on my arms. I unsteadily walked to the door before tearing it off its hinges and ran outside. I barely made it out of the front doors before I let out a painful scream and collapsed to the ground. My limbs grew longer and hairier, the black claws extended out becoming larger as my hands and feet became large paws. My nose started to stretch out as a snout started to take shape. Multiple fangs lined the inside of my mouth. Finally...I had shifted...into a giant jet-black wolf with glowing red eyes. I let loose a deep growl. I took in every minute detail of my surroundings before I bolted into the woods.
I was running through the woods and heard voices. I slowed to a stop before sniffing the air and looking around. I smelled meat and blood. I stood up to my full height and ran after the overwhelming crowd of noises and smells. I found myself standing in the darkness of the shadows as I stared at a decrepit mill occupied by countless teenagers. Considering the strange smells coming from them...none of them were human. I spotted Landon, Rafael, Josie, and MG hanging out. However, Hope was nowhere to be seen. I growled at the overwhelming sense of smell of food and blood. I shook my large wolfy head before noticing Landon was walking away from the party. I trotted into the woods. I caught sight of movement out the corner of my eye. I froze with a growl as a deer ran passed me. I snapped at it speeding after it blinded by hunger and bloodlust. I ran faster becoming a black blur. I jumped into the air and pounced atop of it tackling the poor creature to the ground. I grabbed its neck with my teeth and violently shook my head. I tore at its throat and bit down as I hard as I could until I heard a distinctive snap sound from within the deer. The deer fell limp as its eyes went glassy. The lifeless deer hung from my bloody maw.
MOMENTS LATER
My large black ears perked up at the slightest sound. I raised my head and looked around for the cause of the noise before I smelled a human. I growled as I stood to my feet. I turned around slowly to find Landon. He was standing in front of me frozen as a statue. He was staring at something to the left of me before he bolted away. Seconds later, a white blur ran after him. I stopped growling, confused. I cocked my head to the right slightly before chasing after it. It was another wolf with a pure white coat that was significantly smaller than me. I squinted my eyes and ran faster. I caught up with the wolf and leapt in front of it, standing between it and Landon. I growled loudly snapping at it. It snapped back as its eyes glowed bright golden yellow. I stopped growling and looked at it confused and taken aback. I cocked my head to the left and right slightly. My eyes glowed red brightly. I turned away and ran away from the wolf. I heard it run after me and tackled me to the ground. I turned around and snapped. It turned into a girl. "Who are you?" She asked. My eyes widened before I shifted back into a human. "Hope?!" I exclaimed. "Scott?!" Hope asked just as surprised as me. I got to my feet. "You're a werewolf?!" Hope asked. "Like I said, we all have our secrets." I voiced. "Why didn't you tell us?" Hope questioned as I willed myself to only look in her eyes and nowhere else. "I'm sorry. I need to keep it a secret. You have no idea what I've been through. If I told you what I was I'd put a target on your back. I don't want to do that to you." I explained. "I've had targets put on my back before Scott." Hope countered. "Trust me. You don't want these targets." I voiced with a chuckle.
HOPE
I couldn't help but stare at the naked figure of Scott. I took in every small detail along his extremely attractive physique. He had a banded tattoo on his left bicep. The longer I stared, the more my heart raced. I wanted to see more. I wanted to feel him. Feel his muscles. Feel him i-- STOP! This isn't you! You're Hope Mikaelson for fuck sake. Act like it. Many seconds passed between the two of us as we stared at one another. Scott was desperately trying not to look at anything other than my eyes. Which was noble...but slightly uncomfortable. Seconds turned to minutes before Scott finally broke the silence. "You look...good. That--that's an understatement. You looker better than good. You look great. Perfect even." He rambled before lowering his head and scratching the back of his neck. "Fuck me." He whispered to himself. I've dreamed of it. I used to have a crush on Scott. He was cute and gave warm hugs. When he left, I was left with imagination and magic to spy on him. I eventually stopped when I realized how embarrassing it was. He lifted his head. "So...how about this weather?" He voiced as his face blushed a deep red.
