Chapter 3

Wednesday
Clare's pov
I woke up and bolted to the bathroom and leaned over the toilet to get rid of the alcohol from last night and I felt my hair getting pulled back until I finished throwing up.

Demi: feeling better?
Clare: yeah thanks Demi
Demi: don't thank me yet brush your teeth and come downstairs
Clare: okay
(Demi leaves the bathroom and walks downstairs)
Clare's pov
I looked at myself in the mirror my hair was a mess, I had bags under my eyes which were blood shot red and I grabbed my toothbrush and brushed my teeth and washed my face and once I looked a little bit better I walked downstairs and I was met with my dad who looked pissed along with my uncles and my mom and Justin sitting at the table with a very serious look on their face and I knew I was in for it so I walked over and sat on the couch.

Clare: hey mom... hi Justin
Selena: hey, that's all you have to say after getting drunk and grinding on some guy!
Nick: also the outfit you were wearing you were not wearing that when you left!
Clare: I borrowed something from Valerie, and so what every teenager goes to a party and gets drunk!
Nick: not at fifteen and you know better then that, we trusted you and you broke that trust
Clare: fine I am sorry
Selena: no your not, your just upset that you got caught
Clare: I wouldn't have gotten caught if dad hadn't showed up at the party and totally embarrassed me in front of my friends!
Justin: you are not in the position to be yelling at anyone right now so lower your voice
Clare: fine
Selena: I don't know what else to say other then I am so disappointed and you are going to be punished
Clare: how long am I going to be grounded?
Nick: why don't you go back to your room and we'll discuss it
Clare: fine whatever (gets off the couch and goes upstairs)
Joe: so what do you guys thinking?
Selena: honestly I don't even know anymore her behavior has been out of hand lately
Justin: yeah grounding hasn't been working
Nick: what do you mean? She hasn't been behaving?
Selena: just last week she got suspended from school because she fought another student and the week before that she came home high
Nick: and why wouldn't you tell me that?
Selena: because your never around and always on tour
Demi: that doesn't matter Selena, Clare's is nick's daughter and he has a right to know what's going on her life
Selena: I hate to break it to you but you and nick come for an award show and then leave or you come back from tour and stay a few months and then leave again so Justin and I are the ones raising her most of the time
Nick: alright Selena I know I am not around most of the time but I am still her father and I appreciate Justin helping you but I want to be involved in things when it comes to our daughter
Selena: okay fine since she was on your watch last night you pick her punishment
Nick: okay well being honest I think she deserves a spanking
Kevin: I agree if Alena did something like that she would have been over my lap last night
Joe: yeah she wanted to sneak out and drink she deserves to be punished
Selena: I agree
Justin: but she's also grounded right?
Selena: yeah for a month
Nick: that's fair now I am going upstairs to deal with our little trouble maker (walks upstairs)
Clare's pov
I was sitting on bed waiting for dad to come up and tell me how long I was going to be grounded for and ten minutes later my door opened and my dad walked in.

Nick: Clare do you understand why we are mad at you?
Clare: (sighs) yeah because I got drunk and I grinded on a guy and wore a provocative outfit and I didn't respect the curfew
Nick: good so we can skip the lecture even though you got a pretty good one downstairs
Clare: how long am I grounded for?
Nick: a month but that's not the only punishment
Clare: what do you mean?
(Nick walks over and sits on the bed)
Nick: come over my lap
Clare: no way, your not spanking me I am fifteen!! (Gets off the bed)
Nick: Clare don't make this worse for yourself come over my lap and I am not going to tell you again
Clare: no
Nick: excuse me?
Clare: I said no your not fucking spanking me I am not five years old anymore
Nick: do not use that language with me young lady and get over my lap and that's the last time I am saying it
Clare: I don't fucking care what you say your not around and your not about to spank me
(Nick has enough and picks her up and pulls her over his lap)
Clare: you can't do this! Put me down stop it!!
(Nick starts)

Clare: fine I am sorry!! (Starts crying)
Nick: ten more princess

(Nick pulls her up and sits her on his lap)
Nick: you are never going to get drunk like you did and you will abide by the curfew is that understood?
Clare: yes sir
Nick: and if you ever speak to me or curse at me like you just did you will find yourself in the same position is that understood?
Clare: yes sir, I am sorry (hugs him)
Nick: it's okay now I understand that I am busy a lot of the time but I promise I am going to be around more okay
Clare: okay
Nick: alright let's go downstairs and I want you to apologize to everyone
Clare: okay
(They walk downstairs)
Clare: I am really sorry about last night and it won't happen again
Selena: (hugs her) it's okay but your still grounded
Clare: I know dad told me a month
Justin: yeah which means no going out with friends and no phone so hand it over
Clare: (pouts) can I please keep my phone
Nick: give it to him Clare
Clare: fine, here (hands him the phone and he puts it in his pocket)
Demi: hey we still haven't eaten breakfast you want to help me make waffles, oh and Selena and Justin your welcome to stay
Selena: thanks Demi I'll take you up on that offer (smiles)
Nick: actually Selena can I talk to you for a sec?
Selena: yeah sure (walks over to nick and they go to the backyard) what's up?
Nick: I want Clare to come on tour with me and the guys this summer
Selena: I am sorry what?
Nick: you heard me I want her to come on tour with me this summer, she lives with you and Justin and I barely get to spend anytime with her because she's in school
Selena: yeah she lives with us because we hardly go on tour anymore and it's stable for her
Nick: Selena I am her father don't you think I deserve to see her when I want
Selena: yeah and you do when your in town
Nick: that's not nearly enough and you know it now I don't want to argue with you but I want to take her for the summer or I am going to file for equal custody
Selena: so what? She'll spend half the year at school and half the year home schooling on a tour bus that's great stability nick
Nick: well then let me have her for the summer
Selena: fine but then Justin and I get to take her for the rest of the week and you can pick her up on Friday so we can spend time with her before you take her for three months
Nick: fine
Selena: alright let's go inside it's getting hot
(They walk back in the house)
Demi: everything okay?
Selena: yeah nick and I were just talking about Clare going on tour with you guys this summer
Clare: what!?
Nick: yeah it'll be fun you'll get to see the different states and countries
Kevin: plus Danielle and the girls are going to join us in a couple weeks
Joe: yeah and when Sophie finishes filming she'll come too
Clare: but I wanted to spend the summer with my friends
Justin: yeah because their such great influences, I think going with your dad will be good for you
Clare: your just saying that so I don't see Valerie or Jackie or Ricky
Justin: a little distance from the boy couldn't hurt either
Clare: whatever (rolls her eyes) Demi are the waffles almost done?
Demi: yeah just a couple more minutes come and sit
Clare's pov
We are breakfast and then mom told me I was going to go back and spend the rest of the week with her and Justin since dad was going to have me all summer. So we finished breakfast and then we hugged them and said bye and got in the car and on the way back to the house I couldn't help but think about how my parents treat me like I am some toy that gets passed around whenever they want. Dad didn't even ask if I wanted to go on tour and I know I should be excited but I was really hoping to just be with my friends this summer. Going on tour means interviews, security guards, no privacy, putting on a smile and act for the cameras and fans lots and lots of fans who are either nice or brutal it's always a gamble you never know who's going to be nice or mean and I really don't want to deal with that but I have no choice in the matter so I'll just keep quiet.

Selena: so I know your grounded but do you want to just have a movie day?
Clare: yeah that's fine
Selena: okay
(They get to the house)
Clare: I am going to shower
Them: okay
Clare's pov
I walked up to my room and took a shower and changed into a long sleeve and sweatpants and walked downstairs and started thinking about how I am going to get in touch with my friends because there's no way I am going to leave without saying bye to them but I'll deal with that tomorrow because I already got in enough trouble today and my bottom is still sore from this morning. So we just spend the day on the couch cuddled under the covers watching any type of movie genre you could think of and for lunch Justin made pasta and for dinner they ordered pizza and around twelve we went to bed I would have stayed up later on my phone but someone just had to keep it in their room because I am not "trustworthy" to have it on my nightstand.
