Many people react to their blood sugar lowering with feelings of anxiety. It can be subtle but controlling your blood sugar can turn your anxiety around. For some, it's the complete answer for others, not the whole answer but a welcome piece of the puzzle.
Here's how you do it:
1) Think about the times when your anxiety seems to always kick in, especially if you don't have a clear reason to feel that way.
2) Now, remember the last time you ate before that time and what you ate. Has it been hours since your last meal? Was that meal high in sugar or carbs? There's a good chance your blood sugar was at your personal low.
3) Change your diet slightly. Eat higher amounts of protein at your meals but also add protein every 2-3 hours during the day. Keep nuts in your car. Have an emergency protein bar in your purse.
4) Notice how stable your emotions feel.
