You started looking over his documents to see what he's been attempting to do.

You sighed as you flipped through the pages. You heard Henry behind you,

"Bored already?"

"Bored? No. Worried? Yes. Henry, I had no idea how difficult it would be to reverse the progress your body has made to your serum. You used chemicals that weren't the safest, I'm guessing due to the lack of funding, and made something that could potentially kill you. All of these factors aren't too great for me."

"Yes, I see the predicament. I just hope it isn't too much for us to do. Together. We still have time. We'll just have to works hard. It is getting to the point where Edward comes out easier and easier each day."

You ran your hand through your hair as you turned to face him,
"Not that I have issues with Edward, but in order for this to work I'm gonna need Dr.Jekyll more than Mr. Hyde. I've never worked with this kind of experimentation and it'll be difficult to get the hang of."

He laughed softly,
"Oh, I'm well aware of the difficulties we will face."

"If we can reverse engineer your last serum that worked then we should be able to reverse the process. I'll get the chemicals from our lab sent here and we can get started."

You texted your supplier, Roger, and told him to bring the equipment and supplies you'd need.

While he got everything, you tried writing down your process as you talked to Henry,

"Henry, how did you get in this mess?"

Sighing, he laughed a little,
"I wanted to make the world a better place. I thought if I could separate the good and bad of man then there'd be no more wars. No more fighting. Only peace."

"You had good intentions, but nothing is ever that easy. You can't completely separate two parts of someone. Even if you could, you shouldn't. Everyone needs the good and bad sides of themselves. It's what makes us human. We have to have the bad in order for there to be good."

"I suppose you're right. I should've thought about that before almost murdering 4 people and causing havoc in the city."

You put your hand on his,
"You just wanted a better world. No one can blame you for that. I know I won't."

"Thank you, (y/n). We've known each other a short amount of time, but you've already helped me more than you could realize."

"Of course. I couldn't just leave you in this situation without even attempting to help."

You sat down in one of his chairs in the back of the room. He sat down next to you. Roger would take a bit to bring you the supplies so you had at least 4 hours. You ended up falling asleep on Henry as you were reading some of his serums results.

You didn't hear knocking at the door, but felt Henry gently move your head to the headrest of the chair. He brought all the supplies down, just to not wake you. He eventually came back beside you and you woke up upon the sudden contact of him putting his hand on yours.

You awoke gently, your eyes lightly fluttering open. You remembered your surroundings and coughed slightly,
"Sorry about that. Didn't get much sleep last night."
Or any night.

Henry just smiled and stared at you,
"Don't apologize. It's best to get some rest before we do work."

You started working on the reverse serum with his help. It was more difficult than you thought and would take longer than you thought. You were working all night. It was 3 am and you fell back into the chair, exhausted. You've had multiple failures. Science is about failing, and trying again. You knew this, but it didn't make it any easier. Henry sat beside you, gently taking his hand in yours.

"(Y/n), you need rest. You can sleep in my guest room. We can continue later."

You stood up, keeping his hand in yours.

"We don't have time for sleep! You're slowly growing closer and closer to him taking over. I can't stop working until I finish."

"That's ridiculous. It can wait a few hours."

You two kept arguing back and forth about it until,
"I don't care!! I'm not gonna risk-"

He kissed you while you were in the middle of speaking. That is a good way to shut you up though.

The kiss lasted several, breathtaking, seconds. It was gentle, yet passionate. After he broke away he looked at you with fear in his eyes,
"I apologize about that. We've only known each other a few days."

"Don't apologize, Dumbass."

You pulled him into another kiss.

What is this? You don't make first moves? Maybe he brings out the best in you.

You took a nap until about 8 am. You thought he went to sleep, but apparently Hyde was not happy about the kiss. Despite it being him still technically, he wanted you all to himself. Lust. The downfall of many men.

You were getting up when you felt a dent in the bed. You looked up to see Hyde sitting there, staring at you.
"Hyde what are you-"

You felt lips smash into yours. Rough, lustful. Much different than Henry's. Nevertheless, you didn't fight it. He continued this kiss for a solid minute. When he backed away you gasped for air.

"Not that I'm complaining, but what the hell was that, Edward?"

Edward still had that look in his eyes,
"Sorry, (y/n/n). Couldn't let Henry have you all to himself."

"Edward, you two are still the same person."

"You only say that so I don't hurt you."

You tensed slightly,
"You wouldn't hurt me."

In a flash, he was straddling you with a knife to your throat.

You made sure to speak low so the vibrations of your throat wouldn't touch the knife,

"Do it then. If you aren't afraid of prison or Henry committing suicide, do it. If you want to lose me, do it."

Something flashed through his eyes. You couldn't tell what in the moment. Hyde was back at the side of the bed, his back facing you.

You muttered a, "told you" under your breath. Probably not the smartest thing to do, but you were upset. Not angry, surprisingly, just sad. You sat beside Hyde and put your arm around him,

"You're afraid of being gone once we fix him, aren't you?"

Hyde turned away and shook your arm off.

"It's okay to be afraid. I'm afraid too. But remember, you're a part of him. Wether either of you like it or not. You're still part of each other. You'll still be there. I'll still be here. Okay?"

Hyde was sitting with his back to you again, you put your arms around him and hugged him from the back. You kissed his cheek.

Within a few moments, Henry was back.

You two went downstairs and continued working, speaking about your likes, dislikes, everything.

You two worked day in and day out for a week. Starting over and changing the formula multiple times. You two were getting close.

Until he came.
