♫Chapter 9 ♫

Oh God...

My hazel eyes scanned my ipod as i scrolled through my song playlist. Unfortunately this was the best i could do with avoiding Mason. He was everywhere! When i was walking with Grace to gym class he was leaning against his locker texting, and his locker just so happened to be near the girl's locker room. 

Also today at lunch he bumped into me while he was trying to prove to his friends that he can catch goldfish into his mouth. Now guess what? Now I'm in music class trying to focus on the tournament but it felt so awkward i couldn't!

I flipped my hair back and tried to focus again. I thought about what the songs mood should be like. Should it be energetic? depressing? or love sick?

I kept repeated things questions inside my head until i made a conclusion. I  wrote the first line and the dropped my pencil. 

I hummed the melody as i thought. As i wrote i put as much feeling into the lyrics as i could. I balanced my chair in its hind legs as i kept thinking.

Once the bell rung, Mason followed me out of class. 

"Yah' know your really good at singing." he complimented.

I smiled,"Yeah well i just hope i'm good enough for the tournament."

He raised his eyebrow," Why do you want to win the tournament so badly?"

"Because," I paused. I can't tell him about the bet i made with Ava. What can i say?

"Because... I just want to." I said at least.

"Don't lie to me Jade." he said in a stern voice.

My jaw dropped for a quick second once he said that. 

He stepped towards me, his face inches from mine.

My first thought was,"Run!"

So i reacted to my thought and rushed to class. I stumbled into my desk then took a long sigh.

"What happened?" Gracey asked.

"Oh nothing!" I said quickly before Mrs.Harris started teaching a lesson on music's history.

She rolled her eyes,"Just tell me! I'm your best friend remember! Your bff!" she stated.

Now I rolled my eyes,"Fine, i'll tell you once class  is over." I simply replied. She sighed then nodded her head. 

After class she rushed up behind me and asked,"Can you tell me now?!"

I laughed,"Sure."

I told her everything that happened before class. Her first action was a shrieking squeal. 

"He," she paused.

"He," she paused again.

"He..." 

"Okay breathe Grace!" I cautioned her.

Her smile was ear to ear, you could tell she was over joyed.
