A consuming silence.Then a frightening voice.
"Welcome to The Other Side. The one even you have failed to explore."
Death ambled towards me. I could hear dripping blood with every step he made.
"Few gets to see me when alive" He scratched his dagger on his maroon cloak. He faced me, his expression serious. "You are alive Sierra Young. You lie between life and death."
I cleared my throat and tried to speak. No words came out. Instead, a thick bitter liquid flowed into my mouth. I could taste blood and puss. I spat it in disgust.
"Fate has left you the choice between life and death. You can either remain in this state or struggle for your life." He grinned, revealing his reddish black sharp teeth. "If you succeed, you live. If you lose, your life is mine."
He turned around and walked into the darkness. Before dissolving into his dark world, his sharp voice echoed once more.
"Because who doesn't want to unite with their love after years of separation?"
