Red

Not only the colour of his hair.

But the colour of the blood that ran through his veins.

Cold as ice.

Music roaring in his ears as he stood around in a circle with Jackson and his thug friends.

Drinking the night away at a far to familiar bar.

He remembered meeting Jackson here.

And somehow being sucked deep into his life right away.

Leaving his hobbies, his friends.

Not sleeping, more concerned about Jackson and what he wanted, to avoid a night of sex and abuse.

Following him like a puppy on a leash.

Craving a sense of security and nicotine.

He used to be such a sweet guy.

Always seen smiling, laughing at stupid jokes.

Compassionate towards others and he had a fairly optimistic view on the world.

He was naive however.

Unable to say No, and to speak up.

He was easily manipulated.

And now he was a smoker and always at bars, drinking away the nights.

Not sleeping at night, or not even being home.

He used to believe in the concept of sex with one person.

The one you love.

But know it seemed like something people forced upon others.

Sighing he chugged back another glass of bitter tasting liquid.

Watching Jacksons friends roughhouse.

No one really paying attention to them.

" Hey, Jackson. Come join us, I bet I can beat ya "

A man of the name Jinyoung chuckled, putting the other male in a choke hold and ruffling his hair before letting go.

Jackson smirked, streaks of the flashing lights highlighting his face.

" Nah, but try taking Mark on "

The red head flinched, tensing his muscles.

He was scrawny, and didn't like that sort of confrontation.

Being subjected to it from Jacksons group of friends he had seen it often, but never joined in.

" N-no that's okay "

Mark objected sheepishly, shaking his hand and head.

Jinyoung scoffed, his leather jacket and cocky smirk making him look like more of a delinquent.

Mark was uncomfortable and stepped back, biting his lip nervously.

" I was gonna have a smoke break "

He shouted over the music before Jinyoung could say anything.

So he turned and stepped outside, against the wall he had first seen Jackson all those months ago.

He pulled out a cigarette and began to smoke.

Hands shaking.

" You can't escape that easily Mark, come on. Don't be a pussy "

The rest of the group had followed him, Jinyoung shaking his head and Jackson grinning, standing across the alley with two other guys.

And before he could answer a sharp punch was struck, hitting his jaw.

He stumbled, shaking more vigorously then before, and then came a kick to the stomach.

He toppled over more, heaving as tears pooled his vision.

A foul, metallic flavour cascading along his tongue.

Blood.

" J-"

He tried to get out but he was cut off by a kick to the face next.

Groaning in pain red liquid ran from his nose to the overly dry grass.

He whimpered as he began to sob softly, laying against the ground.

" Damn, Jackson I thought he'd be a little harder then that, aye? Especially after hangin with you for so long "

The male above him chuckled.

Jackson shrugged, glancing at Mark as he shivered.

Rivers of blood painting his face and clothing.

" Maybe you did the job then "

And then they left.

Mark sobbing, red covering his face.

Coating the grass.

Matching his hair.

And in that moment he'd never felt so alone.

Humiliated.

He whimpered once more.

Before he closed his eyes, and the red slowly faded away.
