The devil tried to get him to do all sorts of atrocities everyday. Shang Ke expressed that the pressure on him was truly great. When he could hide, he hid. When he couldn't hide, he would turn into a mushroom and quietly rest in some dark corner.

Seeing how he was so "stubborn to not change", Yan Lu did not force him, rather, he went out alone to "forage". When he came back with his body covered in killing intent, Shang Ke was startled. He wasn't startled because of fear, but the opposite. It was like he smelled something very delicious and the devil dan in him was excited, as if all the pores on his body was opened.

Yan Lu said, "Since you're not willing to absorb other people's essence energy, then I will do it in your place."

He just needs to gather some more essence energy every time he went out and not absorb it. Then he can return and dual cultivate with Little Mushroom. Yan Lu was planning to push aside this greedy little mushroom when he saw how his essence qi was being taken far too much. But when his eyes met his, he suddenly stopped that action.
