First time alone with kyoutani

(Emma's POV)

It wasn't easy being the manager at this school. One thing that made it so rough was dealing with Oikawa and his fangirls, then when they would start arguing I had to get them out of the gym so the team could practice. I walked into the gym relaxing from the quiet before I noticed that there was a ball out of the basket they were kept in. That's a bit strange. I walked over to the ball and was about to pick it up when a noise from the storage closet caught my attention making me look over to see kyoutani come out and I said,

"Oh hello kyoutani-kun, I thought you had class still?"

I thought he would answer but he just shrugged me off like usual. After he didn't answer I put the ball back into the basket before bringing it to the court. When I came back to the storage closet I went to go get the net, which was always a chore, but before I could pick it up kyoutani picked it up saying,

"I'll do this part....you always seem to struggle to pick it up anyways."

I was a bit surprised by his actions but it made me smile a bit. Why did he choose to do this now? Never the less I still said,

"Thank you kyoutani-kun! I never knew you were this kind!"

He nodded and brought the net out to the volleyball court as I followed him with the baskets leaving them at the end of the court and walked over helping him tie the net up. Once we had set up the net we cleaned up the gym and got everything set up. He even came with me to fill the water bottles, there was a calm silence between us as we walked back. As we walked back to the gym he finally spoke up.

"I was only in the gym because my teacher kicked me out of class."

I was a bit surprised that he told me something so personal since he didn't know me. But I did ask and now that he gave me the chance I couldn't help myself.

"Why did you get kicked out of class? If you don't mind me asking."

He hummed faintly seeming to think his next move through, as if he wasn't sure if he could trust me. Then after a minute he spoke up again.

"My attitude and not wanting to turn anything in. I don't see anything wrong with my attitude though."

He was actually opening up to me? I was a bit shocked but hummed faintly and said,

"Neither do I, you seem very relaxed. And you're respectful to women too."

I couldn't help but smile when I saw the tips of his ears go red as he looked away, that was cute.

By the time that we got back to the gym the rest of the guys were starting to show up, kyoutani had taken the container that held the bottles from me. We walked into the gym and I heard one of the guys, probably Hanamaki, say something about me collaring the Mad Dog. He ignored them and asked me.

"Where should I put these?"

I hummed faintly and said,

"You can set them on the bench over there"

Surprisingly he listened.

~Half way through practice~

The guys had been practicing really hard all practice. They took a small break to get water and cool off, while they were Oikawa got my attention and said,

"Emma-chan, mad dog-chan didn't decide to come over maybe you should try getting his attention?"

I hummed looking around and double checked, he hadn't stopped? I nodded to Oikawa before I spotted kyoutani, still practicing. I grabbed a cold bottle and a towel before walking over.
