Hayes walked into the hospital room and gave me a big kiss on the cheek, which made me smile. My whole body was sore, from my head to my toes. But right now they had me on pretty high doses of morphine, they said today was the last easy day.
For the next week they're going to be weening me off the drugs and watching how I react, to make sure my insides are all okay and that kind of stuff.
"I love you." Hayes said and squeezed my hand a little too hard and I winced in pain.
"Careful, I love you too." I replied, he quickly released his grip and began apologizing.
I then was tired, Hayes said I should get some rest so he leaned near me and I rested my head on him and drifted to sleep.
