                           ~Amor's POV~

I close the door loudly behind me, taking deep breaths. My mom comes running down the stairs, covering herself with a red silk robe. Oh gosh. "I-I can come back." She shakes her head, tightening it around her waist so it doesn't open.
"It's fine. I can shower after," she says, looking at the time in the stove. "It's almost midnight, what happened?" I sit down at the dining table, running my fingers through my hair. "Did something happen with Luz?" She asks.
"Yeah," I say, my voice cracking. "He-he proposed." She gasps, grabbing my left hand to find my ring finger plain. She looks at me with confused eyes.
"You said no?" I shake my head, tilting my head back to try to keep from crying. "Hun-"
"I-I cheated on him with Adriel," I tell her. She drops my hand, leaning on her elbows. "I-I wanted t-to say yes so b-bad. I love him so much, but I still did this to him." Leans over and wraps her arms around me.
"It's okay," she says, "petting" my hair. "He loves you too, I could see it in how he would look at you, I can't believe I didn't realize you two were together sooner. But Adriel and you, I don't think that'll ever change."
"I don't know anymore," I say. "I know how much I love Luz, I want to be with him, but when I'm with Adriel-"
"You want him," she finishes. I nod, looking at my hands in shame. My head is hurting so bad, but I haven't been able to take anything. "You're a smart girl. I know you'll choose the right person....and I know who I want to be that person." My brows raise.
"So you're already picking sides?" She nods.
     "Luz."
"Adriel," my dad says, stepping out from nowhere, making both of us jump. He chuckles, sitting down next to us.
"When did you come down?" I ask.
"Like ten minutes ago, but I could hear everything from all the way upstairs. I'm team Adriel."
    •••••••

"What are you doing here?" I ask when I get out of the car to see Adriel leaning against his with his hands tucked into his faded jeans.
"I came to see if you wanted to get dinner, but you weren't home," he says. "I was just about to leave." Honestly, seeing him right now makes me mad. Makes me think of what I've ruined with Luz, which was so good.
"I was at my parents," I tell him. "You come come in though, if you want." Why am I being nice when I want to slap him...and myself. He follows me up to my apartment, my body immediately getting warmer.
"Are you okay?" It still smells like vanilla. It's so late, almost two in the morning; I should be asleep. I nod, setting my bag on the couch. He takes his jacket off and sets it next to my bad. We go into my room to be welcomed by the candles that are still scattered around. "What was all this about?"
"Luz....he proposed earlier today," I tell him. You would think the worst thing ever has happened by the look on Adriel's face. "I ended up telling about...us." He sits down on the edge of my bed, looking up at me with sympathy.
"I'm so sorry," he says. I shake my head. "This is my fault."
"No, it's not. It takes two to have-"
"I made the first move on you."
"I didn't stop you," I tell him. His jaw clenches as he stands, a look between mad and confused on his face.
"You're better off with him." This man used to have an ego the size of Texas and now he's telling me I'm better of with someone else. I would rather him force me to be with him, so I wouldn't be so conflicted. "I already have you my reasons for that. He-he proposed to you, Amor. If we hadn't of ever done anything, you-"
"I would be engaged right now, I know. And I'm not gonna lie to you, every part of me wanted to say yes. I've been bawling my eyes out for almost two hours to my parents about this. My dad, of people, is happy I cheated." His brows raise.
     "You told him about that?"
"Not exactly, technically just told my mom. He was listening," I explain. He nods, running his fingers through his hair. "He feel like crap because, I'm not gonna lie, I love him so much. But then whatever you and I have...I don't want that to end, because I love you too." He nods, taking my hand and pulling me between his legs.
"I don't want you to be in a space where you have to choose," he says. "But...I hope you choose me." I chuckle, shaking my head. He wraps his arms around me, pulling me close until I'm leaning against him. He kisses my temple, running his hands up and down my back.
"Can we sleep? I'm exhausted and have work tomorrow," I suggest, my words muffled. He nods, pulling a back. I walk to the bathroom and get undressed. My eyes fall on what I was wearing last night to bed. Shit. I've been thinking so much today that I forgot I wore Luz's shirt to bed last night. I obviously can't wear it tonight. I fold it, taking in it's comforting, familiar scent. Grabbing a towel, I wrap it around myself before walking out from bathroom, setting the shirt on the counter.
"What happened?" He asks,  now only wearing his boxers. His eyes find the shirt laying on the counter, his brows raising in question.
"I can't wear that," I say awkwardly, walking to my dresser and taking out a nightgown. Instead of going back to the bathroom to get dressed, I just let the towel fall to the floor. It's nothing he hasn't seen before. I put on the nightgown and lay down on my usual side, missing the feeling of Luz already laying down to my left. "Are you gonna lay down?" I ask sleepily.
"Did you get undressed in front of me on purpose?" He asks. I chuckle, looking at the tent of his boxers.
   "Maybe."
    ••••••••

The sound of erratic breathing wakes me up, Adriel's grip on my body tightening. I shift, trying to loosen his grip, but nothing. He doesn't look to be sleeping peacefully at all, his brows are pinched together as if he's in pain, eyes squeezed shut, jaw clenched. I rest my hand on his bicep, finding his measures flexed like he's ready to attack.
"Hey," I whisper, tapping his arm. There's not much more I can do while being locked against him. He just shifts, lips trembling. "Adriel," I say louder. His eyes shoot open, body tensing further, then relaxing when he realizes where he is. "It's okay." His grip on me loosens, making it easier for me to breath.
"I'm sorry," he says, kissing my forehead. I sigh, cuddling against him again. It isn't the same.
"It's okay. Go back to sleep."

AN: Oof, our girl is genuinely torn. Even the parents got their sides 😂 I'm sorry I couldn't get this up last night, and even if it's not good it's still better than it would have been😂 I really hope you enjoyed!
Question: Who do you think she'll end up with? What's something you would like to see happen? (Ya gurl needs some ideas 😂)
