I dunno tbh

"I can still hear it. The music that was played. Sir, if you could hear the beautiful music, you'd understand" I laughed and hugged myself, humming the tune that rang round and round in my head. Day in day out the same few notes. My attention was drawn by the man, who cleared his throat. Maybe it was a woman? Who could tell. Everyone looked the same, the absolute same. They all looked like...him.

Truly I couldn't say that though, they'd think I'm crazy. "Eh hem" the person coughed and I looked up giggling. "Sorry" I apologized, as they wanted an apology. I was unrepentant, but i could tell they were pleased.

"Can you talk about what happened?" Was the question, restated for my pleasure. I giggled. "Why sir, the music! The lights! The sounds! The sickeningly sweet smell of cotton candy, it was all...all so...perfect. like any carnival..a child's wonderland" I said dreamily, smiling off into space. I barely registered the sound of the persons pencil scratching against the paper frantically. They were interested, I grew distracted yet again. The music was growing louder in my ears, a warning. But I kept talking.

"A child's dream. My dream. I loved every moment. It was so sweet. I skipped stall to stall, looking at the games, hypnotized by the flashing lights, red, yellow... blue, green..a rainbow display sir." I giggled "but what I remember most, the music. A catchy, bouncy tone. Played over the loudspeakers sir. " I felt myself disappear into the pleasant memories. Humming the tune over and over, rocking myself. I couldn't see anymore, it was dark. I closed my eyes, but it no longer mattered. I was at the Carnival. Faintly I heard the person speaking.

"Ezraiah come on, you know that's not what happened. You never went to the carnival, tell me about your seventh birthday" suddenly I wasn't so happy. The music became distorted, and my eyes flew open.

"What did you do?!" my shriek echoed off the walls, bouncing in my ears before being swallowed by the out of tune music.I began crying, my hands flying into my hair. I tugged roughly, hoping to focus myself. I barely felt it, the crazy music playing in my ears, the screams, suddenly I started to smell the blood and bile crept up my throat. I couldn't think, couldn't hear. I began gagging, and coughing and sobbing. I opened my mouth, hoping to scream. To expel the fear. I screamed and screamed, coughing up blood. I couldn't hear it, I couldn't hear it....what did he do?! He ruined it!

Next thing I knew, I was falling and my body started to go numb. As my eyes grew heavy, and I relaxed into nothingness, the music soothed out, calm and cheerful once more. I smiled, humming along as I let myself go. Simply happy to have the music back to normal.

The therapist watched in horror. He shook his head and dropped his I.D pass, and walked out of the office. He swore he was going insane, for a split second, as Ezraiah had started drifting off, he swore he heard the music too, and it was indeed...lovely.
