Keva took a bite of the cooked rabbit. "I can't take care of you on my own. I need someone to help me," Keva said to Kyler, sitting by the fire. Kyler didn't seem to know what she was saying. Keva thought hard for a moment, then decided that she would go to town and get a few things. Then, run back here again. But what would she get ? Her mom had given her an amulet when the emperor got more power. She had to get that, and maybe some clothes. Where would Kyler stay if she couldn't come with ? She would have to stay here alone again. Then, Keva heard a rustle in the bushes. She picked up Kyler and ran to the house. Keva decide to hide in the closet. She heard nothing after that, but she stayed in the closet for a while. Then, she decided to go out to see if the thing was gone, if there was something. When she opened the door she, saw a woman's body back up to the bushes.
"Hello" Keva whispered.
"I swear, I 'm not taking anything!" The woman whispered .
" This is not my house. I just am staying here because my parents were killed .....yesterday." Keva explained carefully.
"Oh, mine died three days ago, I Better go" The woman said
"Please stay. I need help with my sister," Keva pleaded.
" How old is she?" She asked.
" Six months." keva answered .
The woman walked to the fire and sat down.
Keva ran in the house to grab Kyler.
" I have to go get some water from the pump" Keva told the woman once she had put Kyler by the fire .
"Okay. And, um... my name is ........" she stopped for a long moment "Rose, and never leave a dumb, tiny child by fire!" The woman said.
"Nice name. I am Keva,and she is not a stupid little thing!" Keva laughed . Keva walked to the back of the house to where the well was, pumping the handle. When her pail was full of water, she walked back to where the fire was, seeing Kyler rolling around and Rose smiling.
"Hey, I am going to Tumbledown. Do you want or need anything?" Rose asked.
"Yes, if you go to the old house on the edge of town, you will find a room covered in forest green. Can you bring back an amulet? It should be sitting on the dresser." Keva said second guessing what she had just said .
"Sure, I will be back, and maybe I'll steal some food from the Emperor!" Rose laughed.
Keva smiled and gently picked up Kyler.
Rose ran off to Keva's old town, Tumbledown.
