The following day I got ready for school and went downstairs to have breakfast with my parents. It was funny at times hearing their thoughts and other times I would block them because I felt like I was invading their privacy.
" Callista today after school do you mind going to the charity centre they need some help organising the charity auction?" asked my mom as she was drinking her coffee
My parents both helped a local charity centre organising events or auctions and collecting clothes to help families in need. They helped alot of families and my parents were happy to help out when they could and from time to time I also helped out.
" sure, no problem " I said getting up and grabbing my bag
" have a nice day" yelled my mom as I walked out the door
I walked over to the car and smiled at Alexander but he just opened the door from the inside without smiling. He then drove off without saying a word
I looked over at him, " did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed?"
" just not in the mood today" he said keeping his eyes on the road without looking at me
I decided to try to read his thoughts but all I got was blankness. I wanted to know what was bothering him but I couldn't read him.
'I can block my thoughts too!' he thought and I heard
" I should have known " I said giggling
He drove up to the front of the school and parked. I then reached over to touch his hand and I got the same shiver as always .
" what is it Callista? " he asked looking at me and pulling his hand away
" did I do something to make you mad?" I asked
"no, it's just me, let's go to class" he said getting out of the car and I decided to follow him.
I walked into class and sat at my desk and looked around and saw Amelia wasn't in. Just as the class was starting I felt a cold breeze on my neck and turned around but there was just one of my classmates dozing off. I decided to continue to listen to the lesson and after a few minutes I felt a cold breeze on my hand. It was a strange feeling and I didn't know what it was. Then I felt the cold breeze on my leg and then back on my neck. It made me shake with coldness so I decided to put on my jacket, but the cold feeling didn't stop. I then asked if I could go to the bathroom. I walked to the bathroom and the cold feeling got colder and I started shaking and I was freezing. I couldn't stop this coldness and I didn't know what to do then I thought about the only person who could help me
' Alexander, something is wrong with me' I thought so he could read me
I decided to go outside and see if the sun would warm me and wait for Alexander, but the coldness in my body got worst and Alexander wasn't coming.
'Alexander! Alexander! Help me" I thought stronger
I walked to his car but it wasn't there, he had left me alone and I didn't know what to do. I decided to go home so I walked to the bus stop and waited for the bus. I was so cold my teeth started chattering and I felt frozen and couldn't get warmer. I then had an Idea and closed my eyes and concentrated on being home under my blankets in my room. When I opened my eyes I was in my bed shaking with coldness.
' Alexander! Please come to me,' I thought stronger but still he didn't appear. I then concentrated on his voice and closed my eyes. I thought about how he laughed and the deepness of his voice when he spoke to me. I concentrated on seeing what was around him so that I could see where he was. I was shaking so much that concentrating was so difficult but then I saw him by a lake. I saw trees and snow and the lake was frozen and he was standing there feeling cold looking at this lake. I concentrated strongly and thought about being next to him. When I opened my eyes I was laying on the snow and he was over me shaking me
" Callista wake up!" he insisted
I opened my eyes and my lips were purple and I was pale and I was so cold. I felt like a piece of ice. He picked me up and carried me to a cabin and layed me next to a fireplace. The heat from the fire didn't help because my body was getting colder.
" Callista, listen carefully, I need to give you some of my heat , I'm going to put my mouth over yours and transfer some heat from my mouth to yours. Just lay still" he said softly putting his mouth over mine . I felt heat through his mouth and he didn't move and his mouth was still over mine. The heat was powerful and I felt it going through my body. Just then he left my mouth and looked at me.
I felt less cold and got up and sat up looking at him " what happened to me?" I asked worriedly
" you have a new power now Callista and your body was getting ready to welcome it."
" what can I do?" I asked confused
" you will find out, I dont know yet " he said
" why didn't you come when I called you?" I asked upset and started crying " I needed you and you weren't there, I was so cold and alone"
" I'm sorry I had blocked you and I promise never to do it again, I really am sorry" he said sadly hugging me tightly
" is this going to happen everytime I get something new?" I asked still in his arms
" I don't know but it shouldn't be like this all the time" he said still hugging me tightly
I shivered by his touch but I didn't want him to stop and I saw he didn't want to stop either. We sat there hugging for awhile and then he pulled away and looked at me. His crystal blue were so bright and they were so beautiful that I looked right into them
" Callista we can't " he said getting up from next to me and walking away.
He had read my mind and knew that I wanted to kiss him. I sat there feeling confused about everything and also about Alexander.
I then closed my eyes and thought about being home in my room and when I opened my eyes I was sitting on my bed. I then layed down and thought about Alexander and fell sound asleep.
The next morning was Saturday so Alexander didn't come to take me to school. I got up and went down stairs to have breakfast and my mom was in the kitchen
" Callista I had asked you to go to the charity centre yesterday but you didn't go, they really need help" said my mom disappointed
" oh! I forgot I was not feeling well and I came home and fell asleep, I'm sorry, I'll go today, I promise " I said
" ok, are you better today?" she as
" yes, much better I'll have breakfast and shower and then go to the centre." I said
" ok, I'm going now, I'll see you later" she said kissing my forehead and then leaving the house
I had breakfast and then went to take a shower. I was getting dressed when all of a sudden I looked at myself in the mirror and I was shocked on what I saw, I got closer to see my eyes better and I couldn't believe what I saw. My eyes were light purple and I got scared. I was glad my mom hadn't noticed because I wouldn't have known what to say. I kept looking at myself and couldn't believe how my eyes looked.
' Alexander! Get here fast!'I thought
Within minutes Alexander was at my front door and I ran downstairs to let him in. As soon as he saw me he smiled.
" explain!" I exclaimed
" the real you is coming out, my eyes were brown when I was born and a few months ago they changed to crystal blue "
" how will I explain the color change to my parents and friends? " I asked worriedly
" contact lenses, that's what I said" he shrugged
" I look strange" I said sadly
" no Callista you are the most beautiful witch I have ever seen " he said coming closer to me and kissing my cheeck softly
The kiss made me shiver as always but I liked his touch.
" Callista you are changing and you can't do anything about it, so just enjoy the real you" he smiled
