That afternoon I went to the charity centre and asked if Alexander wanted to come and he agreed without a doubt. I was a bit nervous showing myself to everyone there who knew me especially my mom, but I had no choice. When we entered the centre my mom was busy opening boxes and she waved to me. I went over to her and as soon as she looked at me she was surprised
" you changed your eye colour? Why?"
" I wanted a new look this year but I wanted to be different. I got contact lenses, they are cool, right?" I said trying to cover up my nevervousness.
" well they are really different, if you like them then it's ok for me" she smiled
" mom this is Alexander . He is new at our school" I said
" nice to meet you" smiled my mom
" nice to meet you too" he smiled
My mom then explained the things we needed to do and Alexander got started helping out. Everyone at the centre knew me so they all made comments on my eyes and everytime I said the same thing as I had said to my mom. Alexand spoke to everyone and made friends easily and all the girls looked at him with admiration. I watched him as he helped everyone and how he smiled . His smile and his eyes were so bright that you could not notice.
'stop it Calista! I hear your thoughts' it was Alexander's thoughts and my face turned bright red in embarrassment.
I continued to open boxes and separate the things for the auction. Some of the things were heavy and I struggled to lift them. When I couldn't lift them I would call someone to help me. There was one box that I was having trouble lifting up so I turned around to see who could help me but everyone was busy doing something. All of a sudden I saw Alexander running towards me and I looked at him confused
'callista grab the box!' he thought
I didn't know what he was saying so I continued to look at him but he ran past me and grabbed the box that was floating in the air. I looked at him shocked and frightened.
' did someone see it?' I thought with a pale face looking at him
'no, I dont think so, I guess you just found out your new power' he thought
'I can move things and make them fly?' I thought
'yes Callista, this is another power of an Illusionist, but you need to learn to control it like you learnt about controlling the thoughts' he thought looking straight into my eyes
'I don't even know how I did it' I thought confusingly
'you thought of making it lighter to move, all Illusionist use their minds to do everything, you can't imagine what a powerful mind you have' he thought
We were looking into our eyes when my mom interrupted us
" you too can go if you want, we are pretty much finished, I'll be going home in a few minutes too." She said
" ok, mom, see you later" I said
" thank you Alexander " said my mom smiling
" it was fun helping " said Alexander
We then waved to everyone and left the centre.
" you want to get a bite to eat?" asked Alexander as we went in his car
" I am kinda hungry" I said
"ok, what do you want to eat?"he asked
"pizza!" I exclaimed
" your favourite food!" he laughed
" I won't ask you how you knew that" I said laughing
We had just got in front of my favourite pizzeria ,when all of a sudden I had a burning feeling on my neck. I turned around and there was no one.
' what is it?'thought Alexander touching my hand
'I feel my neck burning!'I thought
'Callista think of us being in another place, now!' thought Alexander firmly
I closed my eyes and thought of us being on a beach and when I opened my eyes Alexander and I were there.
" what was that?" I asked frightened
He then moved my hair and looked at my neck " it's just as I thought, there was a Sirthros near you.'
"what is a Sirthros ?" I asked confused
" they are a type of witch hunters, they burn witches alive, they use their minds to burn and set your body into flames. There must have been near the pizzeria and they saw your glow" he said angrily
" my glow?" I asked
" Callista, the more your powers unveil, the more you glow but only people from our world can see it"
" you see it too?"
" yes it's not so bright yet,but it's the colour of your eyes"
" I dont see your glow " I said
" only Illusionists glow, Morlocks don't " he smiled
" how can I defend myself from a Sirthros? " I asked worriedly
" you need to block your glow, use your mind and block the glow, so they can't see you" he said
I closed my eyes and thought of not glowing
" did I block it?" I asked
"yes, you are not glowing, very good, now take us back" he said holding my hands
I closed my eyes and when I opened them we were sitting in his car
" I was too afraid to go in front of the pizzeria " I said
Alexander went out of the car and walked around and then came back into the car.
" they left" he said reassuring me
" how do you know?"
" Morlocks are able to smell Sirthros ,they have a strong burning smell and now it's gone, I should have smelled them before, I was distracted and I promise never to do that again! I'm here to protect you and warn you when you are in danger " he said seriously
" don't worry, nothing happened " I said
Alexander drove in silence all the way to my house.
" I'll see you tomorrow " he said looking straight ahead
I looked at him and then got out of the car and he drove away quickly. I went inside feeling confused on why Alexander was so angry.
The next morning Alexander waited for me in his car in front of my house to take me to school.
" good morning " I said going in his car
" hi " he said not looking at me and driving off to school
I looked at him " why are you so angry?" I asked but Alexander didn't have the time to answer because I heard a voice 'someone , help me'
Alexander stopped the car and looked at me ' you heard that?'
'yes, we need to help her' I thought closing my eyes and concentrating on the voice. I looked around where she could be an I saw many houses but they were all alike. I opened my eyes and looked at Alexander 'I dont know where she is but she's in danger, I feel it'
Alexander held my hand and thought ' our powers together are stronger , close your eyes and I will help you find her.' We both closed our eyes holding hands and concentrated and I saw again many houses and then I concentrated on the door number and I saw 257. Then I tried to look as far as the name of the street and it read Forrow Road. I then concentrated that both Alexander and I go there and when I opened my eyes we were both there. I looked around but I didn't know which house she was in. I kept hearing her pleading for help . Then all of a sudden Alexander grabbed my hand and pulled me to a house
'look there is a green glow, she's an Illusionist, she needs help!'
I looked inside the house and I saw the green glow but I didn't see the girl. I ran to the door to see if it was open and it was, so I went in and saw a girl on the floor of the living room in pain. I was about to touch her when Alexander grabbed me
'no!you will burn too, a Sirthros has been here. They put a spell on her. She can't get up and she's in pain, if you touch her you will be in the same situation.' I then looked at her and with my mind I lifted her from the floor and layed her on the sofa. Then I tried to speak to her with my mind
'I'm Callista, I'm here to help you, but you need to tell me what happened? '
'I'm Iris, I was here at my home and fell asleep . When I woke up I found myself on the floor unable to move and there was a man looking at me with his red eyes. He told me that he would be back to burn me alive, we need to get out of here as soon as possible or he will burn you alive too' she thought
I looked at Alexander ' what can I do?'
' first you both need to stop the glow or we will attract other Sirthros, and then Callista you need both to use your powers together by using both minds together, concentrating within eachother. Iris where is your Morlock? '
' I dont know, I've been calling him but he doesn't answer' thought Iris worriedly
' we will see that after, let's free you first' I thought
Then Iris and I both looked into our eyes, her eyes were the colour of her glow which was a bright green. She looked into me as I looked into her . We connected strongly and all of a sudden there was a spark and Iris was free and she immediately got up from the sofa.
'Callista, thank you, now we need to get out of here before the Sirthros comes. We all three held hands and closed our eyes and thought of being in my house and when I opened my eyes we were in my living room.
" where are we?" asked Iris
" it's my house, they won't find us . I didn't know there were others like me in this area" I said confusingly
" There are Illusionists all over . Iris try calling your Morlock again" insisted Alexander
Iris closed her eyes but then opened her eyes sadly " he doesn't respond and I don't know where he is"
" He must have his powers blocked, we will help you find him, but for now I will protect you both" said Alexander
" Thank you, I feel better knowing I'm not alone" smiled Iris
I looked at Alexander and it filled my heart to look at him and I felt lucky to have him near me. He then looked at me and I knew he had read my thoughts but I didn't mind.
