1.29 "Everybody thinks you're dead"

Next day.

The door opened. I expected it to be dad but i got disappointed when i saw Byrne.

I raised an eyebrow "Where is my father?"

Byrne "Chancellor Kane went with the grounder to make a deal with their Commander."

I scoffed amused "Good luck with that"

Then i took a deep breath "So, when am i allowed to get out of here ?"

Byrne "Chancellor Kane isn't back yet. "

I raised an eyebrow "Seriously? I couldn't care less about what Kane wants ! I wanna get the hell out of this room. "

Byrne "You need to wait for your father's command"

I scoffed "Get the hell out of here"

She walked out.

Minutes later the door opened and Abby walked inside.

I walked to her "Abby, how are you feeling? I'm so sorry"

Abby gave me a weak smile"i'm gonna be fine. How's your cheek doing?"

Me "You tell me. I haven't looked into the mirror yet but i can tell that i have a cut on my forehead"

Abby "it's a little bit swollen. You need to cool it"

Me "Thing is, i can't leave this room until Kane says so"

Abby "You're my patient now. "

She smiled a little and i smiled back.

Me "Then let's get the hell out of here"

We walked out of the room and outside into the medical tent. I sat down on the bed. Abby gave me something cold and i held it against my cheek. I flinched when the cold thing met my cheek.

Abby "He shouldn't have done that"

Me "He and i both know that everything i said was the truth and nothing but the truth. He reacted that way because he knew that i was right"

Abby sighed "Still.."

Me "I promise you, Abby. I'm gonna get your daughter and my people out of there"

Abby nodded "thank you. Thank you for everything"

I nodded "anytime. Who's in charge now that Dad is gone?"

Abby "I am Chancellor now"

I raised an eyebrow surprised "Congrats"

Abby "i wanna ask you something"

I nodded "Sure"

Abby took a deep breath "i want you to be my advisor"

I raised an eyebrow confused "Wait. what? Why?"

Abby "Because i am going to need a second opinion. Someone i can ask for hard decisions. Someone who has been here longer than any of us. And that someone is you"

I nodded "i'll do it"

She nodded "thank you, Melissa"

Night.

I could hear the people outside began to panic.

I stood up and walked out. Guards were bringing another Grounder inside.

Abby walked up next to me.

Then i saw her face. My jaw dropped.

I ran to the grounder.

Byrne blocked my way.

I growled "get the hell out of my way"

Byrne snapped "get away from the Grounder"

Me "That's not a grounder, idiot! She's one of my people!"

I pushed her to the side and hugged the girl "Clarke!"

She hugged me back.

Abby "Clarke?"

I let go of Clarke and Abby walked to us.

Abby cupped her daughters face "Clarke?"

Clarke had blood all over her face. Her blonde hair was looked brown with the blood in it.

She asked weakly "mom?"

Clarke was lying in the medical bed at the medical tent.

Abby to Jackson "i need saline and a pressure dressing"

Jackson nodded "i'm on it. "

Abby to Clarke "ok, honey"

Clarke "I saw your ship crash"

Abby shook her head "i wasn't on it. I'm right here"

Jackson gave Abby the supplies.

Byrne walked inside "is she all right?"

Abby "she will be"

Byrne "i'm sorry, Ma'am. We had no idea who she was"

She looked at Clarke "Melissa told us you were in Mount Weather. The Grounders took you there?"

I rolled my eyes irritated "i never mentioned any Grounders"

Clarke "i escaped. We have to get them out"

i nodded "i'm already working on that. Believe it or not, it's pretty hard without anyone helping you"

Abby shook her head at Byrne "we're not doing this right now"

Byrne nodded "yes, Ma'am"

Then she walked out.

Clarke sat up "Melissa, we thought you were dead. Everybody thinks you're dead"

I hugged her "I escaped the fire ring. I came back for you but the Mountain men were already carrying you away"

She hugged me back " Did anyone else make it here?"

I broke the hug and nodded "6 more of us"

Clarke asked hopefully "Finn and Bellamy?"

I smiled and nodded.

She breathed out relieved "i thought they were dead"

I nodded "so did i"

Clarke looked at her mom and her voice broke "i thought you were dead"

She started to cry. 

Abby kissed her forehead and took her in her arms "i'm right here"
