Chapter 16

LUCAS POV

I was riding another bull today and I knew none of my friends would be there to see it, Maya hasn't spoken to me in days, Riley has stayed with her and Farkle has talked to me but said he doesn't support my decision.

I was ready pick the which bull i would ride, I picked Tornado he was a dangerous one I know because he was the one I rode and almost died on, but I had to do this because if I won I would be one of the best.

But it isn't all about winning my dad was a bull rider and a very good one but he sadly died when I was young so I want to make him and my Pappi Joe proud.

As I was about to ride flashes of that night kept appearing in my head they did every time I rode but I took a deep breath and I tried to not let it bother me, I got on he shook and jumped just as angry as I remembered

I yelled "GO" and they opened the shoot he rampaged trying to get me off I would usually be worrying and trying to think of the best tactic or thinking of the night he threw me off but all I could think about was Maya: our argument, our first kiss, our date by the fire, the art gallery opening, asking her to be my girlfriend, our jokes, the many dates I took her one. So many different memories flashed around in my head. I wanted her here.

The horn buzzed I had stayed on and I didn't even realise. I jumped off and moved as the bull was sent back through

I had won but I wasn't bothered about that anymore I just wanted her. I got my award and they took a picture as soon as I could leave I ran out of there and got straight into my truck

I picked up my phone and rang Riley hopefully she would speak to me

"Hello?" She asked answering the phone

"Riley it's Lucas"

"What do you want Lucas?" she said her tone in her voice immediately changing

"I need to see Maya" I demanded, this really important I need to speak to her

"No you need to stay away you've hurt her enough" I don't want to hurt her, that's why I have to speak to her

I need to fix this

"Riles it me please... where is she?" Riley sighed and reluctantly told me

"She's got some of her art out in a gallery it's the main piece somebody read her emails and finally got back to her"

"Can you tell me the address?" She stayed quiet for a moment

"I don't know Lucas I don't think she wants you there"

"Please Riley I need to speak to her it's important" She mumbled something under her breath but still told me

"Fine I'll text it you now" she hung up and a few seconds later I had the address I drove quickly down the bumpy roads

I hope I didn't miss the event

I got out of my truck talking a deep breath and walking in. I looked around but I could see her

"Hi I'm looking for Maya Hart?" I asked some waiter walking by he just pointed over to somebody looking at art

I slowly walked up behind the girl incase it wasn't her "Maya?"

MAYA POV

I quickly turned around to find Lucas stood behind me "What do you want Friar ?"
