Greetings. I am Hecate, the Queen of Shadows. You must be bold, indeed, to step into my den. There is no place for fear here if you want to learn wisdom from me, the mistress of magic. I am a master of occult knowledge. I know more about elements, sorcery, divination, necromancy and secrecy than any other Shadow. I am very well respected in our kingdom, and not just because I am Queen. You do not want to be my enemy. So be careful.
As a test of her knowledge, I have instructed my apprentice Nyx to write this grimoire, in order to teach you how to discover the magic within yourself. By the end of your training, I expect you all to be capable of being competent Witches.
