Cracks

A smile is on my face.

I could laugh for hours.

I enjoy this merry place.

I stop and smell the flowers.

A twinkle shimmers in my eye.

Laughter reaches abroad.

Everybody thinks I'm a good guy.

No, I am just a fraud.

I tell myself to keep on smiling,

So I smile all day.

I'm unable to smile  at reality,

So I treat it as a play.

My smile wavers on my face,

And it stays through every task.

A tear from eternity falls without a trace,

For it's from the cracks within my mask.
