"So," I began. "You guys are probably wondering how Finn and I are friends. For those of you who are new: hi, I'm Ali, I post videos every Monday, and I'm not a clout-chaser. Assholes."
Laughing again at the new influx of comments, half from the aforementioned assholes and the other half from my fans, I continued.
"Finn and I met at that shoot, the one I just posted about, and we sort of just hit it off," I explained. "We got each others' Instagrams, then numbers, and now we just text. That's kind of it."
When people in the comments questioned if there was more, I sighed.
"Trust me, guys, if I had any tea, I'd spill it," I said, shrugging. Looking back at the comments, I stifled a laugh at when Finn commented, "you'll be hearing from my mAnAgEmEnT >:(((".
"Sorry guys, probably have to end this because Finn's being a little bitch," I snorted. "But if you guys have any other questions about this, I'll be sticking around!"
The comments rolled in, mostly about things I knew about Finn. Everything was going well, and even Finn was commenting once in a while, which only made the comments increase. I've never had this much attention on a live before, and knowing that made me hyper-aware of what I was saying and what I would answer. This level of attention spiked when a certain comment rolled around.
user1: r u guys dating?????
Before I could say anything, people began responding.
user2: AHHHHH OMG PLS SAY YESSSSS
user3: theyd be so cute SDFGHJKLJHGY
user4: ugh yes i love gay couplessss
As people continued with this, I noticed Finn stopped commenting. Biting my lip, I sighed.
"Hey, guys?" I said, shifting in my seat uncomfortably. "Finn and I aren't dating. I'd also appreciate it if you guys stop it with the dating comments, just in case it makes Finn uncomfortable."
For the most part, the comments stopped, with only a few people continuing, but it was so same people that increasingly made me more uncomfortable as the live continued, especially since I didn't see Finn's comments anymore.
"Uh, I'm getting kind of tired," I said, my eyes already shifting to the button that would end the live. "So I'm gonna bounce. As always, my name is Ali, I post every Monday, and thanks for joining! Also, buy Ne'er-Do-Wells so they'll let me model again. Bye!"
Ending the live, I sighed, and went to my messages.
Ali: finn? you okay? you kinda bounced for a while haha
Instead of responding, I got a Facetime call from Finn. Answering it, I forced a smile.
"What's up, man? You okay?" I asked. Finn looked away, picking at his nails before running a hand through his hair.
"Yeah, it's just that, like," Finn started, before forcing a laugh, "I don't know. I should be used to the shipping comments by now, you know? Since I get them all the time with Milly and Jack. It's just that... I don't know. It's hard not to feel weird about it."
I nodded. "Don't worry, dude. I felt kind of weird about them, too, so I ended the live. I also wanted to see if you were okay, too."
Finn began to smile after I said that. "Thanks. Plus, like... I also wanna make sure you can handle those kind of comments. Because stuff like that kind of put a lot of my friendships at risk, and I don't want that to happen anymore."
