A LOUD BANG outside and cat squealing was enough to wake the group up. Mackenzie's head flew upwards as she looked around with sweat dripping down her forehead. She secretly started to miss Gabriel's body against her own but shook it off. Her head was pounding so her hand went up towards it, out of reflex, and grabbed it in pain.

Gabriel panted softly as Zhenzhen looked over at him and placed a finger over her mouth to signal them to shut up. Mackenzie nodded her head and looked to Gabriel.

"We gotta go." He spoke in a hushed tone, flinging the cover that was over top of them into the air.

The teenagers changed rather quickly a few minutes ago and now they were silently walking to where the clothesline was, stepping gently onto the grass. Mackenzie stayed behind of Gabriel, looking around frequently, afraid that someone could easily come from any angle and kill her or any of them, right then and there.

"You see anything?" Dariush asks from the other side of the blankets. Gabriel shakes his head, "no, come on." He whispers.

On the other side was Zhenzhen, shushing the three so that way whatever it was wouldn't be able to hear them. Gabriel took a left as Mackenzie was checking a corner. She turned back to where he was originally to see him not there, panic washing over her.

She looked around the blankets until a gloved hand was placed over here mouth, a scream trying to escape but was muffled by the hand. Mackenzie silently cries for help as she was dragged out near a man with a shotgun, being placed behind him. She saw the world go black as a blindfold was places over her eyes and the hand go away, being replaced by a gag and her hands tied together in front of her.

"Oh shit!" She hears Dariush yell nearby.

"What the hell are you doing out here? We're in the middle of an alien invasion." An unknown voice speaks. Mackenzie knew the group couldn't see her because of the large man in front of her.

"Oh yeah and your the ones with purge masks on. Wrong genre, bro."

"Oh look, we have a comedian here." Another unknown voice speaks.

"There are aliens out here! We are not the enemy!" Gabriel speaks which makes Mackenzie feel a tear drop leave her eye as she hears a shotgun reload.

"You guys have something we're looking for and then we'll negotiate a trade for something you'll want."

"Hold up, boys!"

"Lou!"

"You know this guy?" Gabriel asks.

"We go way back! Lou, my nergo! Lou, you know me! We're like this!" Mackenzie already knew this would not end up well.

"Wait, what was thing we would want?" Zhenzhen asks.

"Alex, would you be so kind to give me that and we'll give you this."

Mackenzie feels sight come back until she gets a push on the back, falling to her knees as she looks to see her group of friends in front of her. Gabriel's eyes widened to see tears in her eyes. Mackenzie looks behind to see a shotgun pointed to the back of her head, turning her head back to the group slowly.

"You son of a bitches, let her go!" Gabriel yells loudly at them.

Mackenzie watches as Alex takes the key in his hand, She closes her eyes and shakes her head. She finds it hard to start breathing with the gag.

"Maybe the boy needs a little push." One of them suggest as Mackenzie feels a hard kick to her side, crying out in pain. It wasn't hurting that much but there was definitely going to be a bruise there.

"Stop!" Gabriel and Dariush scream.

"Why do you need the key so badly! Are you going to take it all the way to Pasadena and save the world?" Alex yells.

"No, but if that key can stop whatever is happening, somebody would pay good money for it." Lou responds.

"I trusted you!" Alex yells back again.

"The cemeteries are full of people who trusted me."

A loud scream was behind the man, Mackenzie's tears blocking out the sight but she knew it was the monster. The others looked towards it and started shooting at it, Gabriel taking the moment and grabbing onto Mackenzie and lifting her up, carrying her as they run towards a pool that was covered up. Gabriel hands Mackenzie to Dariush.

"Zhenzhen, glow sticks!" He yells as the creature walks slowly up to Gabriel. Dariush takes the gag and unties Mackenzie's hands. She rubs them and looks over at Gabriel, seeing him yelling at the alien to come his way but turn around after a gun shot from Lou. You could hear the bones cracking from Lou, Mackenzie cringing.

"Gabriel! No!" Mackenzie cries out, feeling more tears prickling at her eyes.

Gabriel grabs the attention of the creature after finishing off Lou, it walking over to Gabriel. Mackenzie started to worry as Gabriel walked on top of the black plastic over to the group. Mackenzie bent over and reached out her hand, him taking it as she pulls him up to their side. The alien speeds up and the plastic breaks beneath it, making it going into the pool and not being able to get back up. Gabriel looks over at Mackenzie, cupping her face and looking at her in the eyes.

"Are you okay?" He asks, genuinely worried.

"Yeah but we should start running, okay!" Mackenzie yells as they all start running off.
