As you got your usual meal, you started heading towards your usual seat. Next to Scotty and in front of Chekov and Sulu.

"I am telling you lads, I was actually really popular with the ladies." Scotty said with a confident grin. However, Chekov and Sulu continued their laughing.

You sat down next to him and gave him a puzzled look. Sulu seemed to notice this, and started to explain.

"We were just talking about our senior prom in high school. Scotty, here, said that the girls would end up fighting over him for a chance to be his date. Chekov, on the other hand, said that he managed to ask his date out, even though he nearly soiled his pants." He said with a soft chuckle.

"I did not!" Chekov turned to him with flushed cheeks.

You couldn't help but laugh at both stories, one for being over the top and the other for being cute. The guys then turn to you with a curious look on their face.

"What?" You said as you took a bite out of your lunch.

"So, how was it?" Scotty said.

"How was wh-"

"Your prom night. How vas it?" Chekov said with a smirk on his face.

You swallowed a piece of your food and looked blankly at it. "Honestly guys, I didn't care for it."

Scotty and Chekov gasped in unison. Looking at you with shock in their eyes."What?! Why not?!"

You rolled your eyes, "I just thought that it would be better to stay home. I mean, its not like I didn't get asked out or anything, but I didn't see the point in going."

They couldn't believe what you just told them. I mean, they knew you were the kind of person that would rather stay at home and do nothing, but they just thought that it started later, as you got older.

They started giving you a lecture on how 'Prom night is the most important event in your whole entire senior year' but you ignored them and just munched on your lunch.

After they finally finished lecturing you, they turned their attention to Sulu."So, Sulu, how vas your senior prom?" Chekov said fully interested. Sulu grabbed his drink and took a long sip, for he nearly choked on his food.

"Well... um.." He stuttered

"Don't tell me that you also stayed home, lad!"

"I-I did go...but..."

Your head shot up. He looked at you, then back at his food. "I went without a date, thinking that a certain girl would change her mind and asked me out."

"Why didn't you ask her yourself, laddie?!"

"I- it was a Sadie Hawkins thing, and I was too shy to ask her out. I- I went just to see if she would change her mind...." He paused for while, "But she was a no show."

The table soon grew quiet, and it remained like that till Scotty got up from his seat. "Well, its time to go back to our stations!" He said, as he walked towards the trash can. "See you guys later!" Chekov said waving good bye.

It was only you and Sulu now, and things were still kind of awkward. It wasn't until the two of you exited the mess hall, that you decided to break the silence.

"I'm sorry, Hikaru." You say without even looking at him. He was taken aback from your sudden apology, but that didn't kept him from walking.

"It's my fault that I-"

"No, it's mine. I- if I had gone, then you would've had someone with you." You say, stopping on your tracks.

Sulu turned to look at you, a bit embarrassed. "H- how did you know I was talking about you."

You slightly smiled and let out a small giggle. "(Y/b/f/n) told me that I was the only one that immediately left after graduation, and didn't stay after for prom."

Sulu couldn't help but chuckle at this. You playfully punched him on his arm and continued walking. Just before entering the bridge, you reached for his hand, and stood there holding it. "Just so you know, I would've gone with you if you had just asked." Sulu smiled and pulled you closer. "Its nice to know now."

The doors from the lift suddenly shot open and the two of you started heading towards your stations, with a smile on your faces.
