Chapter 13:

<JADE'S POV>

I think that was the first time I'd ever completely frozen up.

I never freeze.

I pace.

I fiddle.

Never freeze.

But I did for the first time.

"Jade, are you okay?" The curly-haired boy's whisper penetrated my frozen state.

I met his bright green eyes, "No," I murmured back.

He pulled me in close for a hug. "It's okay, Jadey. You've got me." He said, running his fingers through my dark hair.

"I do, Hazza, and I'm so grateful." I buried my head in his chest, letting the tears fall free.

Harry started rubbing circles on the back of my hand, and relaxing me. Just then, my phone buzzed.

"New tweet from: @NiallOfficial" It read.

I opened up my twitter app reluctantly and checked his twitter feed, clicking on one conversation:

@NiallOfficial: Ready to announce it @KRyders?

@KRyder: Ready as I'll ever be <3

@NiallOfficial: Hello fans! I've come on to announce who my beautiful new girlfriend is...

@KRyder: ME!!!!!

@NiallOfficial: RT "@KRyders: ME!!!!!"

@KRyder: Sorry girls, this hunk of an Irish man is mine now! @NiallOfficial

@NiallOfficial changed his bio to:  im Niall, im in one direction. i sing and play an instrument with 6 strings on it ! Also dating the beautiful @KRyders!

Harry snatched my phone out of my hand, closed my twitter app, and shut it off. 

And when Harry looked me in the eyes, I saw the source of my relief and comfort.

"I love you, Harry," I murmured into my best friend's shoulder.

"I love you, too, Jadey."

"Harry! Did you get my duffle bag already?" I yelled through Niall's flat.

"Yeah, it's already in my flat!" Harry responded instantly.

"Okay, then that's the last of it!"

"What's going on?" An Irish accent said.

I jumped, surprised, and looked into the blue eyes of Niall Horan, almost freezing for the 2nd time, "I thought it'd be best if I moved in with Harry, since you're dating Kate now, I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea." I explained a little breathlessly.

"You didn't have to do that." He said.

"No, I think I do."

I all but sprinted out of his flat and into Harry's warm arms.

"I'm so, so sorry, Jadey." He whispered.

"But it wasn't your fault."

"It sure feels like it."

I kissed his cheek, "No, Hazza. Don't even start, okay?"

Harry didn't reply, but he firmly gripped my hand as we strolled to his flat.

"You sure Lou's okay with it?" I clarified.

"Yeah, he's fine with it, as long as you, and I quote, "Don't hog all of the pineapples.""

I let out a small giggle. "Where did pineapples come from?"

"It's his new obsession.'

 My phone buzzed again.

"New message from LissaBear"

 LissaBear: Guess what!!

Me: What?

LissaBear: I got myself an apartment!

Me: YAAAAAAAYYYYYY!

LissaBear: *does happy dance*

Me: That's right! Work it, chica!

LissaBear: Can't wait to show Liam!

Me: Lissa, do you even know how wrong that sounds?

LissaBear: Shhhhh.

Me: Fine. But whatever you do, don't have sex. You will get pregnant. And die.

LissaBear: Why am I friends with you?

Me: Without you, Liam would've just been one of your fantasies.

LissaBear: And now I rememeber why! Love you, Jade!

Me: Surrrrrreeee

LissaBear: I'm serious.

Me: Do you love me more than Leeyum?

LissaBear: ..... JK. Nope XD

Me: WOW. That hurts, Lissa. I'm going to have a heart attack.

LissaBear: BREATH, JADE, BREATH!

Me: I'll try, it'll be harder now, though :'(

LissaBear: AWWW! DON'T BE SAD. I LOVE YOU.

Me: I LOVE YOU TOOOOOOOO.

Harry looked over my shoulder to stare at my text messages. "I swear, you two are so weird."

I flicked his forehead and laughed, "Oh, shut up, Haz!"

As a comeback, he picked me up and started to dart around his flat.

"Harry Styles, you put me down right now!" I yelled.

"Nope."

"HAROLD." I said loudly.

His laughing green eyes met mine for a second, and I stared at him, unsmiling. It almost seemed like his face was coming closer to mine, when I couldn't take it, and burst out laughing.

His laugh almost seemed shakier than mine, but I payed no attention to it.

He set me down, and then picked up the hose from his backyard, which was where we had ended up.

"HARRRRYYY! NOOOOO!!!!" I screamed as he pelted me with water.

But Harry just laughed and sprayed me until I sntached it from him and doused his curls.

"NOT THE CURLS! YOU MONSTER!" He shouted at me, but he was laughing along with me.

I almost thought I saw someone's head behind the glass door to his flat when I spun around....

But it was gone once I tried to get a closer look.
