"Alex, come here we have to talk to you," said dad.
"What"
"Just sit down and we'll tell you."
I sat down uneasily, waiting for answers. Then at last they started talking.
"Alex, as you know we've been deployed for two years."
"Thank you for rubbing it in my face"
Suddenly I heard a little whine and another and another it was Shane jr. He had woken up and was looking for me.
"Here Shane, here boy"
I saw him stumble down the stairs and how he jumped on my lap. I gave him a dog cookie for him to munch on while I talked to my parents.
"So, who am I going to stay with?" I asked.
"Well, we are going to Los Angeles first"
"Why"
"To look for a new school and take you to your home for two years"
"What!!! I am going to live in L.A"
"Yes, are you happy"
"No, I have to leave my friends and everything behind."
"Yes, but you will come back," said my parents.
