"A-Cheng will you listen to me as I tell you how I felt every time we meet? How my thoughts change the way it thinks whenever we converse with each other? Will you listen to my heartbeats, like my words, just like the first time?" He knows he's just making his wounds open more, his just hurting himself more but what can he do? He couldn't stop himself from saying how he feels, how badly he wants Jiang Cheng to know them. But, he knows well that his lover will never answer him nor does can listen to him. He smiled, he didn't know why he suddenly smiled but when he felt a tear slide down to his cheeks, he knew.

He knew that no matter what would happen in the future he will have to face it all alone. Sect problems that he used to share with Jiang Cheng will solely be his. Even if he can share it with his brother like he used to, it will never be the same. The air around him and his brother are different from the atmosphere he and Jiang Cheng has. Ignoring it is the first thing he'd think of and the last thing he'd like to do.

He wants to stop walking and just sit down but down the mountain, the Jiang Sect disciples are waiting for their sect leader to return with them. Forcing his tears to stop and thank the gods it listened to him, after a few silent steps he opened his mouth to speak again. "Do you know what I felt when I saw you carrying young master Wei in your back after he and Wangji were punished?" Remembering the memory that entered his mind. "It was the second time we met each other," staring into the dark sky he heaves a sigh, lonely.

"The reason why I told young master Wei about the cold spring was that I didn't want him to get near you," he admitted, feeling his heart added more ache, he chooses to continue.  "I didn't want him to get in touch with you, maybe at that time after I saw you smile, I also want to be the one who would cause it, just the only one."

"But with young master Wei always with you, I couldn't find any of my courage and walk up to you. Even to Huaisang... Even to him, I didn't want any of them to get near you."

Stupid, he could hear Jiang Cheng's voice in his head uttering the word, though it hurts he still smiled.

"I know it is, but I love you. Stupid as you might say it but I really love you, I just haven't thought deeply when we were younger. Thinking it was the feeling of familiarity that made me do it was indeed stupid. I'm sorry," he spoke low somehow losing all his strength to talk. "I'm really sorry."

He gritted his teeth as much as he wants to clench his fist at the reason why he was saying sorry to Jiang Cheng when he can no longer hear it. "I didn't want to do it but for my selfish desire to be with you, I did. I was the one to suggest to uncle to have young master Wei to return to Lotus Pier for a while after he and young master Jin got into a fight. It wasn't supposed to be his punishment but I got the feeling that if I didn't tell uncle about it I would regret it."

"I did it thinking that I could spend some time knowing you while young master Wei was away but unfortunately I didn't. You were busy with your studies and had Huaisang beside you, to help you with everything while I was always away, always sent out to look after the Waterborne Abyss while the elders think of a way to solve it. Countless times have I thought of you, wanting to be with you, to help you with everything instead of having Huaisang near you. I thought of you countless in my head knowing you won't even spare me a breath."
