Your POV
Today was the day. Today was the day that I show my actual face to someone. I usually wore a mask that covers the lower half of my face.

I put on my shades and made sure nobody was following me. I went inside the cafe and I saw Natasha in the back in a booth.

There's no going back. You're here already and you can't leave her hanging. You huffed and walked over to her and sat in the seat across from her.

"You didn't blow me off." She said.

"No that's just rude." I said.

"So you got a name or do you just go by Shadow." She asked.

"I don't know if I should tell you. You could have Tony ready to attack or something." I said looking around and she laughed.

"You can trust me. None of the Avengers are here I can promise you that." She said and I looked her in the eye.

"Just because you have sun glasses on doesn't mean I can't see when you're looking me in the eye." She said and I smirked.

"Would it be better if I took the shades off." I asked.

"Be my guest." She said and I took them off looking her in the eye. I could tell she was thinking something but I decided to stay out of her mind.

"S-So the reason I wanted to meet with you was because of the Tony situation." She said.

"Iron man, what is he going to do." I asked leaning forward and putting my hands together. "Because He Damn sure won't put a hand on me."

"You don't understand. Tony will do everything in his power to capture you and if you don't prove to him you're not a threat you'll be spending days in a cell." She said.

"Nat I told you I'm not joining or being associated with the Avengers. I just can't do it." I said.

"And why not." She asked.

"Because." I said trying to get the memory out of my head.

"I need a better than 'because'". She said.

"Tony is the reason I'm like this now. He was the reason I was kidnapped by Hydra and experimented on. Tony Stark is the reason I keep to myself and for like to talk to people. Tony Stark was the reason I was abused and beat for 4 years." I said.

You couldn't take it anymore and got up and walked out. When you got to the parking lot a you felt someone pull your arm making you stop.

"What." I said turning around looking her in the eye.

"Why was Tony the reason." She asked and I could tell she could feel my pain. She's been through something like this before.

"If I'm going to tell you we can't be in the public." I said and I went somewhere nobody would find us.

"Tony and I used to be the bestest of friends until his ego fucked everything up. He started getting rich and he forgot all about me. When he started Stark Industries is when everything started. After I cut myself away from Tony I was on my own. I was sleeping behind trash cans in alleyways begging people for money so I could eat. One day I was minding my business when I was kidnapped my Hydra. They thought I knew the plans of Tony because I was his 'best friend'. I told them I didn't know and they would beat me senseless , until they figured they could make me into a fighting machine. They experimented on me and now I have powers. I fought for them for another 4 years before I started getting my memories back. After fighting them off I went on my own and that's how I became Shadow. After everything that's happened to me I never wanted to see Tony again." I said.

"You don't have too if you don't want too." She said and I noticed my hand was in hers.

"We can go. I need to let go of the past." I said.

"Are you sure." She asked and I nodded.

After that we made our way to the Avengers Tower.
