Chapter 4

Applejack sat in the near-deserted library, save a girl with purple hair sitting next to a girl with lilac hair. They had their hands intertwined, as they flipped through a book.

The doors opened, but Applejack was too into her book to turn to the door. But she regretted not having early notice.

Rainbow sat next to Applejack, to which she groaned. "Hey, Bish," She laughed.

"Ah thought ya had a,'Reputation' ta uphold," Applejack grunted.

"Well, let's see. I am in a library with a chick, all the guys I hang out with are dicks and idiots who aren't gonna pass the tenth grade, they don't read, so my dear Applejack, my reputation is perfectly fine."

"Surprised their stupid behavior hasn't rubbed off on ya..."

"I'm not stupid, AJ. What a hurtful comment. And I thought you loved me!"

Applejack rolled her eyes. "So, Bish. What'chya readin'?"

Following the question, Dash slipped the book from AJ's grasp.

"Hey! Rainbow," she whispered venomously.

"Damn, when you say my name angrily it kinda turns me on."

"Don't be a perv, Dash! Gimme mah book!"

"Technically, the book belongs to the school, which belongs to the district, which belongs to the government, so that ain't your book, babe."

"Ugh," AJ said, scooting out of her chair. "You're an idiot."

"If I were an idiot, I wouldn't be able to know where you were."

"And that's why ah regret yah not bein' stupid."

"Remember, Jackie, I'm not stupid!"

Applejack walked out of the library, and Dash followed in tow.

Applejack walked on, trying to ignore her. Suddenly, Dash began poking her cheek. Slowly at first, but then she kept her finger there.

Applejack's expression was that of annoyance. Then, without warning, she burst. "What!"

Dash fell over, as she landed on the floor, giggling. "I am right! You're sexy when you're feisty," she smirked, deviously smiling up.

Applejack rolled her eyes, walking on, and Dash caught up quickly, still giggling.

"Alright, B-"

"Don't call me babe," she warned.

"Okay. Applejack, I have to go. Track meet in 15."

Rainbow, without warning, pecked Applejack on the cheek, running away, laughing evilly.

"RAINBOW! QUIT IT," Applejack yelled, rubbing the cheek as if she had sneezed on her.

"YOU WILL BE MINE, APPLEJACK APPLE," Rainbow laughed as she ran.

Applejack felt weird then. She didn't know why, but a smile broke out, the corners pulling up in a small grin, before fading to maintain seriousness.

She shouldn't fall into it again.

The one area of life that never welcomed her in the first place.

She can't fall in love.

At any cost.
