Applejack slowly walked down the deserted hallway, hoping to be alone. When it was deathly silent, she brought her fist into the cool metal of a locker, screaming out in anger.
Sliding down against the bent locker door, she sat on the floor as She choked out small sobs remembering she was all alone in this world. That she was surrounded by people who did not understand her the way she'd like people to know her.
Applejack removed her sweater, throwing it angrily on the floor.
"Hey, y-you okay?"
Applejack turned towards the voice. She groaned.
"What ya want, Rainbow?"
Rainbow Dash reached into her bag and pulled out the book from yesterday.
"Y-You left your book, well rather, I forgot to return it."
"Ah thought that book didn't belong to me?"
"Smart one. So you remembered. By the way, nice read."
"Y'all read Spiderwhick?"
"Well, yeah. I'm pretty sure a lot of people read her books. She goes to this school."
Applejack gaped. "Seriously!? What does she look like?"
"Umm, lilac hair, neon Pink eyes, mostly wears slightly baggy stuff. Not a Lot of dresses in that department," Rainbow chuckled, moving over near AJ.
Applejack smiled. "Ah think ah've seen her."
For a moment, things were silent.
"Ah can't believe this," AJ finally said, sighing.
"What?"
"We just had a conversation. A REAL one."
Rainbow smiled, sitting on the cool tiles. "True. True."
Applejack began fiddling with the lint in between her index finger and thumb.
Rainbow Dash looked AJ over, finding her sweater crumpled on the floor. Tracing her inspection up her legs, torso, and chest, she trailed her sight along Applejack's arms. Her eyes caught them. The scars.
The cuts.
Rainbow sat up then, snatching her arm. "What're these!?"
"N-Nothin'," Applejack nervously replied, pulling at her arm, but alas, Dash was stronger.
"No! These are SOMETHING! Applejack, how could you do something like this," Rainbow cried, her voice cracking. What Rainbow felt was odd, and sparking concern. Genuine concern.
Applejack stared into Rainbow's eyes, feeling all honesty wash into her. "What's a person to do when they're all alone in the waide' waide' world?"
Rainbow felt her eyes water. "AJ please don't do this to yourself! You're too beautiful to do this!"
"No! No, Ahm not," she screamed back. For a second, Applejack felt that weird spark again. What was it? The warm feeling that gnawed her brain dry.
"S-Stop doin' that ta me!"
"Doing what!?"
"What'chyur doin' now! Stop making me trip over mah heels! Ahm not what you think ah am, Dash! Ahm just a parasprite! An accident waitin' ta happen! You don't know what ya want, Dash, but it shouldn't be me! One day ah will disappoint ya," she yelled, pulling with all her might, and finally escaping her grasp. Picking up her stuff, she ran.
Her tears quickly dried, but she found more, sitting in her car in her drive way, her face completely drenched in her salty tears.
Walking home, Dash sighed, talking to herself. She did that. To clear her mind.
"Why can Aj see," she asked herself.
"Why can't she see, that the things that I tell her, when I'm very much serious," she breathed.
"I mean them."
