Chapter 10

Kion POV
Fuli was laying in her cave with her head on paws.
"Fuli can I talk to you for a moment".
"I don't know Kion, you started off today hurting your closest friend then you think it is a good idea to run off with Kev and the help to stop the conflict alone" she with a little bit of rage in her voice.
"Fuli I want to apologize for say what I did earlier for trying to make you jealous when I was being jealous, I guess it's the stress of the human drillers getting to me".
Fuli sat up.
"Kion if stressed about things then you have to talk to me about it".
"I know it's just that ever since I was gone I feel like the drillers moving in was my fault because I wasn't here to do anything about it".
Fuli's angry went away and she was the normal Fuli I know. She sat closer to me.
"Kion this isn't your fault, don't blame yourself".
"The only way I knew that was face the drillers alone".
"Kion that is the worst thing you could do, the pridelands needs you know, your parents need you, the guard need, and I...I need you here... ow more than ever. You don't need to run off alone Kev is handling it".
"I still feel like I could have done something". Shd hushed me with her tail.
"You did all you could and that's that no more need to worry". She licked my cheek.
"So you forgive me".
"Of course Kion, at the risk of breaking your sensitive little heart" she teased.
"Yeah I was being kind of jealous".
"Kind of you tried make me jealous" she laughed.
"Yeah I was a jerk".
"But your my jerk". She leaned her head against mine before remembering what we had decided.
"Uh I'm sorry I almost forgot" she said with blushing.
"It's okay" I said also blushing.
We locked eyes for a minute.
"I hate to interrupt this heart felt moment boss" said Jafari.
Fuli and I jumped by his sudden appearance.
"No...we weren't...we're just friends" both said.
"Right and I am a monkey's uncle but we have a problem come quick".
We followed him.
"What's wrong" I said.
"Well after you decided to take caution to the wind and ignore what we talked about by going with Kev and the others to take out the drillers, how that go by the way".
"I group is taken care of but there was hardly a fight, the others don't want Kev there".
"Because he is a doctor not a fighter, incase there are injuries".
"But what's the problem".
"Well some other drillers found his home, his stuff is Okay but him not so much. I found him unconscious".
"Kev's injured". We went faster. We enter his wagon to find him unconscious.
"I don't know how to wake him".
"Kion didn't Adolfo use something before a small tube".
"Right" went farther into his den like wagon and found his pack. It was really ment for humans and not adult Male lions. It was hard to get down the isle. I pulled it open, grabbed the tube and gave to Jafari.
"Since you have bendable fingers".
"Okay". Stuck the tube into Kev's mouth and pushed the button. After a few seconds Kev coughed and slowly got up. We help get stand up. He sat down on a near by chair
"Thank you guys". He was trying to regain his breath. Fuli looked at a photo on Kev's floor.
"Kion why is Kev on that small slate thing".
"That is a picture humans have some kind if magic that captures moments, that must be him, his mate, and his son". They looked happy.
"I didn't know he had a family Kion".
"I didn't until a little bit ago".
"Kion this isn't his place that is place with his family".
"He won't leave he is to wrapped up in this now, he won't leave until is finished".
"Well he is a foolish as you Kion" she said giggling.
"He is way smarter than me Fuli".
"Ugh geez I'm gonna head back to the lair" said Jafari.
"Right we should probably head back to" said Fuli.
"Right". We started to leave but Kev called us back.
"Wait...cough... Kion you might take these back". He opened a cage and pulled out two lion Cubs. Godo and Ora were there.
"Hey Uncle Kion and Fuli".
"What are you two doing here, oh wait you were at that hole again weren't you".
"Yes".
"Seeing how you've been with I imagine you okay, come on let's go go".
Kev waved his hand a gesture that shows good bye.
"Your niece and nephew are quite a rambunctious bunch".
"Yeah and they don't listen".
Fuli laughed.
"Reminds me of someone".
"Ha funny".

The next day I decided to start my morning by visiting my spot on the cliff.
It was so peaceful there that I fell asleep. I woke up at dusk.
"Oh man the guard is probably wondering where..."
I looked down and saw an African Tulip. That was what Duma and Adolfo lay next to me show everything is okay. The guard must have let me sleep. Ever since last night I couldn't stop thinking about Fuli. I decided to go to her cave. I ran there my heart beating out of my chest.
"Fuli...Fuli are you here" but she wasn't.
Suddenly she came back.
"Kion is something wrong".
"I just uh... I wanted ask why you guys let me sleep you have woke me".
"You've been stressed you need the sleep".
An awkward silence fell over us.
"Kion can I tell you something" she said as she got closer.
"Sure...". She nuzzled her head onto my neck.
"I can't...not any longer". She purred.
"Me either Fuli". I nuzzled her back. That night we spent it together. I finally stop holding back the love I had for Fuli. The next morning I woke next to her. Our head lay together. I licked the top of her head.
"Good morning Fuli".
"Good morning Kion".
We nuzzled again.
"Kion I have a serious question to ask".
"What is it".
"How are you going to tell your parents".
