Chapter four

After pulling in, and dick and I had dropped our stuff in our rooms, I was tackled by a wall of three younger brothers.

"Daphne's home!!!" Seven year old Damian yelled. I just chuckled.

"I missed you too dami, and I missed Jay and Timmy too" I said to them.

I had to actually untangle the mess of limbs that was three boys plus me. Once we were all situated I asked for the person I've been secretly dreading all day.

Dad.

"Hey jay where's dad?"

"Last I saw he was in the kitchen"

"Thanks" I ruffled his hair, and moved to the kitchen.

As I moved to the kitchen, I felt my nerves stand on end. I don't know why I was so nervous, I just was. I wondered if maybe I messed up last night on patrol because if you messed up when you had a mask on, Well dad would make you train for hours, no mercy. If you messed up by not picking a lock fast enough, you would have to pick a lock for hours and he'd up the anty every time you finished the task.

I pushed the door open, and dad was sitting across the room, dressed as Batman. I gulped, even though it was only dad, and he had a big heart that he only showed when he was with us as Bruce, or at home, but Batman was very intimidating.

"Hey dad" I was really hoping that he wouldn't see how nervous I was. "You said you wanted to talk to me?"

"I wanted to ask if you wanted to be on the young justice team?"

I was shocked "really?"

"Yes, it would be fine, but you'd have to keep yours and dick's identity a secret from the team, neither of you are ready for that kind of heat, no revealing anything about yourself, the only person on that team who knows robin and my identity is Wally, am I understood, you can be friends with them but that is one secret you must keep"

"Understood completely"

Dad nodded with his warm smile, there he is, my dad, "now go get dressed in your uniform so we can leave."

"Okay!!" I quickly bounded to my room, where my suit lye, hidden, still in my backpack. I'll be honest I was really excited to see Wally, I've kind of had a crush on him since we met when I was eight, but of coarse he has absolutely no idea, he as familiar to me as any of my brothers so we hugged good bye and we always acted like siblings, just like dick and him do. Although if we ever dated then dick and Dad would both try to murder him.

When I stepped into the batcave, dickie was already dressed and waiting by the zeta tubes with dad. My usual farewell party was waiting, as well as Alfred with some cookies.

"Hey Alfred"

"Hello Miss daphne, how was your day at school?"

"It was good, how was your day"

"It was very good, would you like a cookie before you go?"

"Now how could I say no to Alfred pennyworth's famous cookies?" I asked as I grabbed a cookie off the plate.

"Thanks Alfred." I turned to the zeta tubes, but before I even walked one step I was almost tackled by the boys.

"Bye boys, I'll be back soon, and tell you all about it ok?"

"Ok!!" They all yelled out.

Batman, robin, and I stepped onto the platform, and it started to scan us for our codes.

"Batman 0-2, Robin B0-1, unknown guest."

"Change unknown guest to Amethyst B0-8" dad pronounced for the zeta tube AI

"Change detected, Batman 0-2, Robin B0-1, Amethyst B0-8, to mount justice." A white glow emitted, dad and dick stepping in, and I quickly followed in, afraid of the embarrassing situation of me being left behind.

My body felt weird, like it felt like I was disintegrating, but it wasn't painful, it also felt like I was being wrapped in a nice cozy blanket on a cold night.

Then as soon as we left we were there, at the young justice headquarters.

I walked in, seeing a living room/ training room of sorts. Inside on the couches sat Artemis, Miss Martian, Aqualad, superboy, and kid flash. I had read everyone's files off the bat computer, because well I was bored, and dick kept telling me stories about the team, they had already been a team for six months and I was very excited to meet them. They were also known as Artemis Crock or Sims (which I could never call her or my cover would be blown), M'gann M'orzz, Kaldur'ahm, Connor Kent, and Wally West.

Wally zoomed over to us only to be stopped by the big bad daddybats. Wally dubbed anytime Batman acted like our father, as a daddybats moment. Batman held his arm out clearly telling Wally no. He got the picture and ran back.

"Team, I have a new teammate to introduce." Dad explained. That got them off the couches and standing in front of us, to see their new teammate.

"This is Amethyst, she is another one of my protégés, treat her like you would robin, I have league business I need to attend to." With that he turned on his heel and all we heard was

"Batman 0-2"

And he was gone, leaving me to deal with a whole new team. Aqualad walked up to me.

"Hello Amethyst, my name is Aqualad, also known as Kaldur'ahm, but you may call me Kaldur. This is kid flash, also known as Wally West" he went on introducing the team with their secret identities, all except robin. "And lastly as I can guess you already know is robin."

"Uh hi, yes I know robin, but I also know kidflash" I finish waving at Wally. He obviously had to think about who I was and it was funny to watch it dawn on him.

"Wait you're not, no, Wait, just hold up a second, rob are you okay with this?"

"Duh or else," he hooked a thumb at me "she wouldn't be here"

"It took me weeks to even convince them, and then an additional month to convince Batman" Wally laughed at me.

"Oh this is golden." The rest of the team obviously looked confused. So Wally clarified. "Guys I know who she is just like I know who robin is, but she's also forbidden to tell anyone who she is" realization dawned on the team.

"I see" Kaldur said.

"Well I for one am just glad there's another girl on the team" Artemis exclaimed.

"Yay I'm excited to meet you Amethyst" m'gann said.

"Oh you guys have to watch this, rob you and Amethyst have to show the team a fight between you two" Wally suggested.

"I'm game, unless robin is too chicken to play" this sparked interest in the rest of the group, even Connor who has hardly shown an emotion since I got here, seemed excited. Robin had told me that he has beat every member on the team in training sessions.

"Ugh Fine I'll fight you"

"Prepare to be served" I smirked. I was the more skilled fighter out of the two of us and came up as the winner of all our sparing sessions. We walked over to the pad and they turned it on.

Robin and I started the fight. When I fight I am very unpredictable, so it's hard to detect what move I'll use, but dick used the same moves every time, it was too easy to beat him.

The fight was very graceful with kicks and dodges, jumps, and punches, but eventually I won, trapping him in the Mat, with a triumphant grin.

The team looked shocked, but Wally just looked proud. I got up, offering my hand, and he took it.

"See guys, mind blowing right?" Wally said after a pause.

"I'll admit Ames is pretty good at fighting, can even come close to taking down the bat himself, but he's got miles on her" I cuffed the back of dick's head.

"I like you" was what Artemis put in "I think we're gonna be great friends"

please you have no idea. I just smiled as we walked to the kitchen.
