Manik was getting ready to attend a meeting. He wore a white shirt with light grey pants and blazer. He opened the cupboard to get his tie. He was looking for a particular grey tie when his eyes fell on a file. His moments stop and his eyes automatically reached for the file. He got the tie to. He was tempted to open the file but closing his eyes he threw the file on the bed behind and closed the door of the cupboard.

His eyes felt on the mirror to she her standing in a peach saree with white boder and a her nupital around her neck and her partition filled with the name of his sindoor

She walked to him with a smile on her face. Her smile reflected on her his face to. She made him turn and took the grey tie from his hand, stood on his feet. His hand went around her waist to make her stand properly.

She started to make his tie as he looked at her, adoring her. She was the same girl who had dared to punch Manik Malhotra and stand against him without bending.

She was done with the tie and saw him looking at her. She cuped his cheek and looked into his eyes which held pain

"Don't be so harsh on yourself" she almost whispered

"Can you forgive me?" he asked

"I love you Manik" she said

"I love you more Nandini but that doesn't change the fact that I snatched your daughter" tears beemed his eyes

"Our daughter" she correct as he looked away not meeting her eyes as a year rolled down

"Did you pack your bags, we have to leave for India at night?" he asked and she nooded with a smile.

He kissed her forehead and left, she saw his retreating figure and then glanced at the file on the bed a part of paper was peeping out. Nandini's eyes teared as she read what was inscribed

ADOPTION PAPERS

India (Present)

A girl rushed through the crowded railway station of Bandra. She had to reach the office in half an hour, for a meeting. To top it it was raining cats and dogs in Mumbai and the autowalas

"Ek baar boyfriend mil jaye par Mumbai mein auto na mumkin hai" she thought

Almost drenched she was finally able to beg a auto guy to take her to her office.

As soon as she entered, almost running the lady on reception said

"Mr Oberio except you in his cabin"

She ran to the elevator

"Aiyyappa I am on toss" she thought as the elevator door closed with a ping
