Stars filled the night sky. A nice breeze filled the air as I fiddled with one of the stones on the wall. Thinking back on my Cadet days made me miss them.

Brawling with Eren...
Laughing with Jean...
Fixing Marco's gear...
Arguing with Reiner...
Sewing Mikasa's scarf...
Studying with Armin...
Breaking Connie's Arm...
Giving my food to Sasha...

Hell, even my Scout days, however short they were.

Having Tea with Erwin...
Helping Levi with cleaning and paperwork...
Drinking with Molbit...
Laughing with Hanji...
Racing with Gelagar...
Strategising with Nabana...
Cooking with Mitch...

"(Y/N)?" I heard a voice

I turn and see Marco, "Hey Marco,"

"Knew I'd find you here, How are you?" He asked sitting next to me

"Fine, you?" I responded looking back at the sky

"Fine," He replied, "Thanks for helping by the way,"

"It's fine," I shrugged

"I brought you something," He revealed a bag

"You didn't have to," I said as he pulled something out

It was a new pair of uniform Jeans and a dark (F/C) colour cloak.

"I heard you lost a leg and since you can regenerate so I brought you some trousers, The cloak is so you stay hidden in the shadows since I've heard you've been about," He handed me the clothes

"Thanks, Marco," I smiled

"It's no problem," He replied smiling, "How is your leg?"

"Fine," I put the cloak on, "I don't feel it,"

"That's cool," He looked at me, "Sorry about the whole stabbing you thing,"

"Ah, yes that," I remember that day I was forced to use my powers as he hit my lung

"We needed Eren," He defended

"So do we," I replied, "I don't think you understand, us Titans only have thirteen years to live, We have to get him before we die,"

"W-What?!" He exclaimed not knowing the curse of Ymir, "Only thirteen?!"

"Yes, it's called the Curse of Ymir, Once you get the Titan powers, that's it, a large countdown," I explained

"Is that why you never cared for the future?" He asked

"Yeah, I never had one so what was the point?" I shrugged

"How many do you have left?" He asked holding my hand

"Four," I replied

He went silent doing the math, "A year before the attack..."

"Yeah," I said

"Hey! Remember the good days?" He changed the subject, "When I was stuck upside down from the tree? When Jean fell off the hay and you shouted he looked like a horse?"

I smiled at the happier memories

"When we tried to cook with Mitch and he kept smelling the food and saying something was wrong," I laughed

"So we feed the bad food to Jean," Marco laughed, "How about when Annie flipped Eren?"

Annie? How is she..?

I smile slightly lowered

"Or when you managed to beat Levi in training?" He continued with these memories, each one making my smile drop lower, "... What about when you were almost killed then Bertholdt came from nowhere and took down the Titan!"

"Marco..." My voice was a whisper

"Or when you saved me?" He continued

"Marco," My voice grew louder

"Or Erens' big speech about killing all the Titans?" Marco wouldn't stop

"Marco!" I shouted

He looked at me stunned.

"Please stop..." I said, "I don't need the bad memories,"

"Sorry, I wanted to-"

"Lighten the mood? I know," I said

He squeezed my hand that I forgot he was holding, "Look, I'm not supposed to tell anyone this information but there's something I need to tell you,"

I look at him, "What is it?"

"In a few days, once everything has cleared up, we will be trying to retake wall Maria," He explained, "I want you to stay safe and leave Maria,"

"Marco I-"

"No, listen to me," He sounded stern, "You have saved me twice, now here I am trying to save you,"

"Marco, I-"

Before I could say anything he pulled me into a hug, "Please..."

"Marco, I don't know if it's possible with the way things are going," I finally got to explain

"(Y/N), I need you to do this, For yourself, for me..." He pulled away from the hug and leaned close

"Marco..." I looked at him, his freckles stood out in the moonlight

He placed his lips on mine, I was surprised yet kissed back.

Why am I kissing back..? What about Bertl..?

When we separated we looked at each other, "I should go," He stood up and handed me the bag, "There are a few more things in there for you," With that, he left

I sat surprised at his actions. After a few minutes, I take the bag and open it up, there were a few pieces of clothes, A small knife with a note attached saying it was from Levi, A bracelet with a star charm and a note saying it was from Jean and thank you note from Erwin.

I place the knife in my jacket pocket, the bracelet on my wrist and the rest back in the bag. I make my way back down to the camp. Once there I enter the area where I sleep and where Bertholdt has made himself home. He was sleeping so I place the bag down and change into the other clothes. It was an (F/C) hoodie, white shirt, new black jeans and new boots.

"Your shirt isn't tucked in at the back," I heard Bertholdts voice

"Didn't know you're awake," I replied getting the back

"Woke up when you entered," He got up and walked over to help

"So you just sat and watched me get changed?" I questioned

He tucked my shirt in, "I wasn't complaining,"

"From nervous sweating boy to a boy that watches people get changed," I said pulling my hoodie down

"Only you," He pulled me into a hug

I rest my head on his chest

"Plus I've seen you in less," I could tell he was smiling

I couldn't respond, Instead, I punch his chest lightly.

"Come on, you know I love you," He placed a hand on my cheek and moved his thumb back and forward

"So much for my cute shy boy," I removed my head from his chest and looked at him, "Still... I'm not complaining,"
